Loading ...HO scale model steam locomotives from hi-end makers come as cast-brass models that look like that. They leave it up to the modeller/purchaser to airbrush the black paint on and apply decals for whatever railroad they wish. They cost a ton of money above the usual plastic body consumer models.
So a boyhood friend of mine said he always wished he could get “a brass locomotive”. It was the ultimate modeller’s dream. One day I visited him and saw a brass locomotive on his shelf! WOW! Upon closer examination I found it was a plastic loco that had been spray painted brass gold. “Don’t tell anybody”, he whispered, “but it sure looks nice on the shelf, doesn’t it?”
