Calgary’s Heritage Park Steam Train

Posted by pgr2.45 @ 20:13 on September 29, 2014

“There are 3 locomotives on the premises, two of which are in full service (depending upon the year); either “CPR 2023” or “CPR 2024″, neither of which ever belonged to the Canadian Pacific Railway and were actually US Army locos built during WWII, the 2023 by ALCO and the 2024 by Lima.
The 3rd locomotive is a steam engine converted to diesel power. Now numbered CP2018, it was used at Canmore Mines (near Banff AB) during its lifetime and it was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway.”
