Thank you for the kind words. They mean a lot. I try to judge what I post by whether I think it is important to the forum to have the information, whether on or off topic. I don’t necessarily always agree with what I post but if I think it needs aired and exposed for its possibilities then I will post it. That way we can get it all on the table for discussion or refutation or sometimes even name calling. Whatever! I know there are others out there that have opinions and I encourage them to speak up and give us a chance to expand our minds with their knowledge too. All the best and again thanks.  Silverngold

See how it went? We printed so much money, and bought so many foreign imports, the rest of the world has so much unneeded excess unspent DOLLARS, they dump them back onto us and take peanuts for interest.

Who would have thunk over printing, borrowing and spending in excess would result in a reward of unlimited amounts of low interest loans??

WASHINGTON (AP) — Foreign buyers of U.S. Treasury securities boosted their holdings in August to a record high. China, the largest foreign owner of Treasury debt, increased its holdings after two months of reductions.

The Treasury Department says in its monthly report that foreign holdings increased 1.1 percent to an all-time high of $6.07 trillion, after having fallen by 0.3 percent in July.

China, the top foreign buyer of U.S. Treasury debt, increased its holdings by 0.4 percent to $1.27 trillion. Japan, the No. 2 buyer, boosted its holdings by 0.9 percent to $1.23 trillion.

Foreign central banks are big holders of U.S. Treasurys, which are viewed as one of the world’s safest investments. In August, government holdings increased 1.1 percent to $4.16 trillion.

Foreign demand for Treasury debt is expected to remain strong this year, driven in part by geopolitical tensions that make U.S. Treasury bonds attractive as a safe haven. Strong appetite for Treasury debt has kept the interest the government must pay for that debt at very low levels. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note was little changed at 2.15 percent on Thursday following a sharp drop the day before.

Foreign demand has also been bolstered by a congressional agreement to avoid a fight over the U.S. debt ceiling until March 2015.

A standoff in August 2011 over raising the government’s borrowing limit rattled financial markets. The political gridlock led the credit rating firm Standard & Poor’s to downgrade its AAA rating of U.S. debt for the first time in history. But at the beginning of this year, the administration and Congress reached an agreement to postpone any further fights by suspending the debt ceiling until March 2015.

Just watched the end of “Fast Money” on CNBS. At the end of the show they always have final trades.

Brian Kelly says, “I would look at GLD and GDX. If I were Russia, I would immediately back my currency with gold. The first country to do that WINS”

I’m stunned. I’ve always thought the same thing but thought it would be China. Russia backing the Ruble with gold makes far more sense. Putin could single handedly ruin western fiat currencies and garner investment from every part of the globe. China could easily follow suit.

Even more stunning  that anything like that could be said on CNBS.applause

I love your posts and the stuff you put forward. Keep em’ coming.

I’m putting myself on record right now and a predicting that the SM will crash next week. Gold will be flat but flat will be a win.

If I’m wrong, I’ll just make another prediction. No worries.

Who knows if the beans aren’t protecting those kids. If their not getting sick and no one else is getting sick. They send coffee too. Maybe the evil filament type virus doesn’t like them.  Maybe they should look into it if so instead of poisoning people with insecticide or whatever their spraying on them.
