I see we have a birthday for you today. Mr. Market has often given me a gold silver bottom on a few of my birthdays. Maybe it your turn now. 🙂 Happy birthday.

“The ban or termination of the US dollar will not apply to the exchange operations carried out by Russian Central Bank, the Russian government, ministries of foreign affairs and defense, the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Federal Security Service.”
You know what this reminds me of?? In 1934 when the US banned private ownership of gold. Exception to the rule, gold was allowed to trade between various countries and their banks.
Evidently, US Dollars for Russian citizens these days are the same as GOLD was for American citizens in 1934. This is a very interesting clue for the “situation”.
One of the main challenges of a long career in money management is that the distance (in terms of time and cost) between an intelligent conclusion that prices are massively wrong in either direction, and the actual reversal of valuations toward the range of “reasonableness,” can sometimes be too long to bear. One could have easily become stridently bearish on stocks in 1995 (as we did), when in America equity prices passed all-time highs by nearly every measure, selling at 22 times earnings, a level that was previously reached in only September 1929 and March 1972 (both serious peaks). But they did not top out until early 2000 at 40 times earnings. And, in October 2008, those who thought that markets had fallen as far as they possibly could, and backed that belief with massive buying, found themselves weeks or months away from what was an extraordinarily painful and confusing bottom, with horrifying losses mounting by the day.
Today, one could be bullish on the long-term value of gold and be not only sitting on losses but also experiencing incoming ridicule and schadenfreude. In the same vein, based on the extraordinary monetary policy being practiced by the world’s central bankers, one could be completely convinced that medium- and long-term bonds are staggeringly overpriced, with nowhere to go but down in price (up in yield). But watching bonds persist in their long-term uptrend regardless of money printing, and watching gold prices languish with no understanding by investors that throughout history gold has always been considered the only real money in a world of monetary fakery, is concerning to say the least. Maybe history has stopped.
We do not have a solution to the problem of assessing the outer boundaries of the price ranges of a host of financial assets, nor do we have a key to refining the timing of turning points in trends. The only appropriate answers are: “Who knows?” and, “Whenever they feel like turning.”
But we do have thoughts about survival as money managers, based on our own experience as well as observation and data. Every money manager with aspirations of a long career must govern his or her purchases to take into account the uncertainties we have described above. There must be a “Plan B” when purchasing or selling assets, so that capital is kept intact even if trends or turning points do not follow expectations. Being “wrong” may (or may not) be a temporary thing, but money managers who want to stick with long or short positions must determine how they are going to trade, hedge, or increase or decrease their positions if the prices continue to go against them. It is surprising how few money managers ask themselves: “What if I am wrong, or early? What do I do then?”
These are particularly important issues at present, with bonds across the globe still absurdly treated as “safe havens.” They are not safe havens with the 30-year euro swap rate trading at 1.85%, or the Japanese 20-year swap rate at 1.35%.
its just one more year closer to the big event! but i’ll settle for oblabla’s impeachment.
Happy Birthday! Had I known earlier I would have broken out a bottle of Chopin! 🙂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WANKA
chicken huh? You didn’t happen to vote democrat the other day did you?
THIS IS WHAT HOPE LOOKS LIKE
So let me lay out some simple TRUE PREMISES, and then ask a follow-up question.
A.) The constitutional republic referred to as the United States of America no longer exists. TRUE.
B.) The Rule of Law is no longer in force in the former United States. TRUE.
C.) The Constitution of the United States and the system of government it defines is therefore no longer in force. TRUE.
D.) The body going by the name “United States Congress” has been rendered meaningless in praxis. TRUE.
E.) National-level representative politics in the former United States is a completely false facade, kabuki theater, designed to entertain and mollify the masses who are of average intelligence, and to launder looted money and enrich the oligarch class. TRUE.
F.) Given the reality of the true premises above, any person who holds or seeks to hold national-level public office is, by definition, morally, intellectually and/or psychologically unfit to hold public office (The Barnhardt Axiom). TRUE.
Okay, so now my question. What exactly are you people agog about? Have we learned NOTHING? NOTHING AT ALL? It still hasn’t sunk in? Do you not remember the 2010 midterms and how that was going to put the brakes on Obama once and for all? DO YOU REMEMBER THAT? Yeah. And what did they do? Flip-all. Zippo. Nada. I don’t give a crap if the “US Congress”, both houses, are UNANIMOUSLY republican. What the hell does it matter? No. Stop. Stop and think. Answer the question, because it is not rhetorical. You tell me. WHAT DOES IT MATTER?
Oh boy! I’m so excited! Now there are a few more psychopathic imbeciles and whores who wave the flag with the elephant on it who will do exactly nothing to stop anything that the Washington DC regime does. Run up debt, debase the currency and loot the Treasury to the tune of a TRILLION dollars per year? NOTHING. Dissolve the Mexican border? NOTHING. Run guns to and reform the islamic Caliphate? NOTHING. Sic the IRS on enemies? NOTHING. Actively attempt to bring viruses and plagues into the country? NOTHING. Aggresively force and promote a culture of sodomy and child slaughter? NOTHING. But the godless sellouts and larcenous hacks will all now, instead of capitulating to everything, suddenly stand tall and put their proverbial foot down! Really? And also the sun will rise in the west tomorrow morning. Give me a break.
You can’t, you just CAN’T be that obtuse. The former United States is being run by a shadow regime, who has full power and control with ZERO check or balance. Have you not been paying attention to ANYTHING that has happened for the past six years? The former U.S. is being run by executive fiat, which is carried out by an ideologically purged and compliant bureaucracy, judiciary, military, financial industry and with a fully compliant media/propaganda arm. The executive is not Obama the man, who is less than nothing but a puppet front, but a Supreme Soviet of oligarchs. And I mean that literally. A Supreme Soviet of oligarchs. The Legislative branch is a troupe of very, very highly paid shills and cretins who, I’m sure, will perform their little hearts out for you. Hands will be wrung. Frowny faces will be made. Billions of breathless, personalized emails begging for contributions to their money laundering fronts, aka PACs, will be sent. Balance sheets will inflate by eight figures for no apparent reason.
I’m sorry, but I cannot, in good conscience, engage in any sort of conversation or commentary that is not based upon reality and true premises. This is another way of “going along to get along” that I simply refuse to do. It is massively harmful to others to confirm them in their delusions or false premises. Just to be sociable? Just to be included in the conversation? Just to be liked? Nope. Can’t do it. Won’t do it. It’s a sin against Charity.
Look, you can tell me about how the United States is “turning it around” when abortion is a capital offense and sodomy is recriminalized. You can tell me all about how the U.S. is on the road to recovery when there are people in the streets weeping and sobbing on their knees begging the Triune Godhead for His mercy and forgiveness for spending the last fifty years proverbially kicking God in the crotch non-stop. You can tell me about how there is hope for America when there are dead bodies of these oligarchs hanging from the lampposts after their trials and executions for crimes against humanity with full due process in accord with the Rule of Law.
You want to know what the first glimmer of hope will look like? Something like this:
Until then, save me the brainless rah-rah-team-elephant-yay-everything-is-awesome crap.
we have a few more good men and women voted in but not enough to make a difference. nevertheless the republicrats will tend to do less damage then the demopublicans….and perhaps some good if they repeal obozocare! as for your last your right but but but sometimes the fire in the belly gets the best of me!
anyway its my birthday today and mrs wanka cooked a special free range small chicken with potato diner and did a small chocolate cream layered frosted cake with caramel vanilla ice cream and I’m now a contented 69 year old camper.
Isn’t that right silverngold , shame on you and all the others for propagating this nonsense . Enjoy your tiny lives .
Nathan’s girlfriend, Andrea, asked us to share the following:
“Nathan Cirillo was the most energetic, positive and happy man I have ever met. From the second he woke up to the moment he went to bed he was smiling and trying to make sure everyone else was smiling too. It breaks my heart that our future together was taken from us in such a violent, senseless way but his memory will live on with me and those who knew and loved him and every wonderful person that is sending us their love.
He was the best boyfriend I could have asked for and I will always love him with all of my heart. For those of you who didn’t know him, this is the kind of person Nathan was; standing in the kitchen deciding what we would have for dinner, my heart suddenly swelled with happiness over spending time with him and I said “I just want to crawl up into your shirt and stay with you forever” and without even a moments hesitation, like it was the most natural thing in the world, he pulled his shirt over me and popped my head through the neck hole next to his and just held me. I still smile (and cry) every time I think of that moment. Nathan would go above and beyond to make sure anyone he cared about was happy and I did everything I could to do the same for him. He deserves to always be remembered as the beacon of light that he really was. RIP Nathan baby, I love you Big Bear and you will always be in my heart.”
eeos, once in awhile I can see a little testosterone in your posts but nothing I ever considered a personal attack.
Augirl, I am very aware of Karma and will be happy to pay for any/all of my transgressions that I have not already balanced out when my time comes.
On Sandy Hook, the most important pieces of info I uncovered on the net are as follows:
Sandy Hook Elementary was closed permanently in 2008, 4 years before the “incident”. There are many articles on the net about this. Here’s one.
Almost all the “victims” families who lived in Newtown Ct had their home mortgages paid off on the same day following the incident.
Several of those who had no mortgages suddenly won large Connecticut lotteries, as did some of the other local officials who participated in the incident. Here’s just one.
On a personal note I have suffered the loss of two younger brothers, both murdered in separate incidents a few years apart, one a university student, the other a family man with wife and son. Then 20 years ago, March 3,1994, my wife, age 36, was hit and killed by a logging truck near our ranch in BC. That was the worst for me …..Rita was the joy of my life and also my “right hand man” on the ranch. Believe me when I say I have felt almost more grief, pain, and sorrow than I can endure.
So when I see or hear of someone faced with a tragic event I deeply sympathize and feel their pain, just as I have felt my own. On the other hand, when I see a staged event….and they’re not too difficult to spot…. I call them as I see them.
On Sandy Hook I have no doubts. Pure HOAX; on this last one I would call it at least suspicious pending more input, more videos, etc but at this point I’d call it another HOAX. IMO!!
All The Best……..Silverngold
That’s funny, when women have a opinion of something it’s PMS which seems to be a mans way to side step the issue. In fact women have died because of this Pseudo superiority complex by incompetent doctors. So what is it that men have when they make their opinions?
Perfect. Valium with a rum chaser. Few things better to kill the pain. Do you treat US patients? If so, I’d like you to be my Doctor! 🙂
ment17 – agree completely, just another night, after another night, after another night…after…never mind. Of course you are right, the paper players are in charge and on overdrive. Dumped $1.5 billion of paper gold at 12:31 am EST today without regard for price. Nobody does that unless they intend to destroy the price. The only hope is that they are trying to destroy the last of the gold longs either in advance of the Swiss referendum or in advance of a massive move higher. I hold out hope for neither. What a total disaster.
Wanka – it’s unfortunate that we have no honorable leaders left in the country. Obola should have been removed years ago, but we can rest assured that not only will the Republicrats not seek to remove him, but they will try to accommodate him while whining and crying about how unconstitutional he acts. As for North, why even bother?
no pm issues, good to know on a oasis blog board… thanks augirl for clearing that up lol
Sweet …….. I own some …….. Whole bull market move obliterated
I bot maur Phyzz silver TD tho …. Ease the pain ……. Valium 10 mg and a couple shots of rum.

French police arrest three in nuclear plant drones probe
PARIS, Nov 5 (Reuters) – Police arrested three people found in possession of remote-controlled drones near one of the nuclear plants involved in a series of mystery overflights by the unmanned aircraft, a source close to the investigation said on Wednesday.
Two women and a man were apprehended near the Belleville-sur-Loire nuclear plant in central France and two drones were confiscated, the source said.

(AP:LAS VEGAS) LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada’s mining industry already makes a big contribution to the state, and it still will, the industry’s top lobbyist said Wednesday after voters narrowly rejected a constitutional amendment that would have removed a 5 percent cap on mining taxes that dates to statehood in 1864.
“The defeat of Question 2 does not change Nevada mining’s commitment to working with state policymakers to address Nevada’s needs,” Nevada Mining Association chief Tim Crowley said in a statement. “We are proud that while employing only 1 percent of the state’s total workforce, with salaries twice the state average, mining currently pays 7 percent of all general fund revenues.”
The initiative failed Tuesday by fewer than 3,400 votes after some 535,000 ballots were cast for and against it. The results were unofficial, pending certification by Nov. 12.
Had the measure passed, it wouldn’t have immediately increased taxes paid by the powerful mining industry, because the state Legislature in 2013 adopted a law that would have kicked in to provide tax exemptions for mining companies that could have added up to about the same amount as the increase.
Initiative proponents argued that Nevada needs the revenue for schools, and that removing the constitutional provision would give state lawmakers and the governor flexibility to adjust mining tax policies for companies extracting valuable resources like gold, silver and lithium.
They also noted that many big mines in the Silver State are owned by companies headquartered outside of Nevada.
