WNW 174-Middle East War Coming, Iran Russia Unite
By Greg Hunter On January 23, 2015 In Weekly News Wrap-Ups
By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com(1.23.15)

Several top stories are all coming out of the Middle East, and they all show war is approaching. Yemen has fallen into the hands of Islamic radicals, and there is total chaos and anarchy in the country which now has no formal government. This is an ominous development as it borders Saudi Arabia where staunch U.S. ally, King Abdullah, just died. A successor has been named, and he faces a country on its Southern border overrun with rebels that oppose America and its allies. President Obama has called Yemen a success story, and now it is a disaster that can and will further destabilize the Middle East. My question is when will the anti-American rebels try to overthrow Saudi Arabia? That is coming. The U.S. can’t let that happen because if they do, it’s lights out for the petro-dollar. The U.S. has been moving men and machinery to the region to fight ISIS. Will they be diverted to Saudi Arabia?

Israel attacked positions in Syria and killed the son of a Hezbollah leader and an Iranian General. Iran and Hezbollah say they are going to invade northern Israel in a counterattack. The Israelis say an attack on Israel was already in the planning stages, and it attacked preemptively. This could get ugly and very bloody. Hezbollah has been amassing thousands of missiles, and they could rain down so many missiles on Israel it could swamp the Iron Dome missile defense system. A missile attack by Hezbollah could make what Hamas did in the south look tame. This might ratchet up the violence as Israel moves to stop such an attack.

Meanwhile, Iran just signed a defense pact with Russia that could send sophisticated S-300 missiles to Iran. These missiles are defensive and might thwart a possible air strike from Israel over Iran’s nuclear program. Here’s a big question, if Israel attacks Iran, will Russia feel obligated to then attack Israel? Who knows, but this news clearly shows tensions on the rise and peace is being pushed further out of the picture. A direct attack on Iran by Israel would surely cause a wider way. On top of that, Israel has released satellite photographs that it says shows Iran has what appears to be a new ballistic missile. The Israelis claim it is capable of hitting targets far beyond the Middle East.

Closer to home, Congress has invited Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress. The White House was bypassed, and now the Obama Administration says it will not meet with Netanyahu while he is in town. The official reason is that the Prime Minister is too close to his election, and the White House does not want to appear to be showing favoritism to a candidate or a party. Others say President Obama is furious the White House was bypassed. Speaker John Boehner has voiced his displeasure over how the talks have dragged on with Iran over its nuclear program and says “hell no” to Obama signing a bad deal. President Obama threatened to veto any legislation that intensifies sanctions on Iran. My prediction is the House will have bipartisan legislation for more sanctions and so will the Senate. There may be enough Democrats that will vote to override a veto. This is what I predicted after the mid-term elections, and this is what is happening. More and more Democrats will vote against the President as time goes on.

On the financial front, the European Central Bank (ECB) started its own “open-ended” money printing, or QE program. It will be spending $70 billion a month buying bonds, but the ECB says it is only picking up 20% of the tab. It wants other central banks to pick up the other 80%. I don’t think any other banks can afford it, and Germany certainly will not be chipping in 20%. I don’t see how it will work. The euro has been sinking in value, and the U.S. dollar has been rising. At least two USAWatchdog guests predicted the dollar would rise, and that may indeed force the Fed to start another round of money printing to knock down the dollar. U.S. companies, which get much of their revenue from sales abroad, are hurting because of the spiking dollar. The Fed will not let that happen, so expect more money printing to devalue the dollar.

There are also plenty of signs that say the economy is not in a so-called “recovery” but a downward spiral. This is another excuse to start another round of money printing to prop up the economy a little longer. Oil and energy companies have been laying off workers by the tens of thousands. Other parts of the economy are also announcing they are shedding jobs such as eBay, American Express, plenty of retailers and even big banks like Bank of America. The President touted that the economy was strong, but out here in the real world, it looks weak and getting weaker.

Finally, Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson has been exonerated by the U.S. Justice Department. This means the entire “hands up, don’t shoot” movement was based on a gigantic lie. White police officers are not hunting down unarmed black men and executing them. More than 5,000 blacks a year are murdered by other blacks in America, and those lives don’t seem to matter to people like Al Sharpton. Much of the city of Ferguson, Missouri, was burned to the ground based on hype and lies. That is a tragedy for the business owners, most of them minority owned, who suffered because their town was being used as a political piñata.

Not tracking too heavily on oil but read their the regulators gonna be coming out with more regs and here in Cali they hit us with tax increase to offset loss of revenue which I’m sure when it does go back up when ever that will be as businesses already cutting jobs, costs etc they won’t reverse it. I don’t know what stress they will put in a already stressed sector but their priority is not gas but their global warming agenda.

You mean the things they might add to it? Learning to eat less meat anyways maybe that will help although raised around farms like you here and there. Now they do that in real life to baby chickens. Things barley hatch come out all happy and cute in these horrible industrial farms and through thousands of baby male chicks in a meat grinder with their little wings spread trying to fly out. That or they pour them into a large trash can and fill it to the top and cover it and leave them to be crushed or suffocate to death. I’m guessing the first is used for dog food or something. Why they allow this to happen God only knows but then we’re dealing with people of questionable conscious.

Oil Dinosaurs Face Extinction: State Oil Companies And The Meteor-Strike Of Low Oil Prices

Tyler Durden’s pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 01/23/2015 17:45 -0500

Submitted by Charles Hugh-Smith of OfTwoMinds blog,

State-owned oil companies that don’t slash expenses to align with revenues and boost critical investment in the infrastructure needed to maintain production will suffer financial extinction.

Domestic and international energy companies are responding to the 50% decline in the price of oil by doing what’s necessary to remain in business: they’re slashing payroll, postponing capital investments, delaying new projects and soliciting price cuts from suppliers and subcontractors.

This is the discipline of profit-driven capitalism: if expenses exceed revenues, profits vanish, losses pile up, capital contracts and eventually the company runs out of cash (and access to credit) and closes down.

Unfortunately for state-owned oil companies, the feedback of expenses, losses and access to credit are superceded by the need to feed hordes of parasites: the state-owned company exists not to generate profits but to fund large payrolls and support state officials and cronies.

Stripped of the discipline of markets and profits, state-oil companies exist to serve the interests of the state’s Elites and their cronies and favored constituents. As a result, critical infrastructure has fallen into obsolescence, capital investments have been hollowed out and the expertise needed to maintain production has eroded.

The state-owned oil companies are like dinosaurs: the extinction meteor of low oil prices has smashed their ecosystem, and all they can do is watch the sky darken as revenues crater and expenses and debt remain at unsustainably high levels.

Two food maxims I learned.  Being of German American heritage, my dad knew where all the best German butcher shops were in the state… with special sausages.  I learned early on:

“You never want to watch sausage being made, if you eat it.”

Also, learned from my years in Hawaii,

“Never look in the kitchen of a Chinese Restaurant”.

I bet those people will never eat sausage again.

Then you can write them too. Something like this. They just pass things and don’t read it, it would be a perfect time to implement no deductibles and large refunds.
If they later do read it they don’t want to lose votes so they won’t try to change it.

Do you like sausages?

Dear Mr It, PS Infact the Gov is very generous, ask the bankers. but the bankers didn’t keep their promise to circulate it to the economy. Now if you can see it to divide that amount of money to us we can assure you we will circulate it amongst the economy and not just give it to those bank people who will just keep it.

Posted by goldielocks @ 18:04 on January 23, 2015

Dear Mr It, Si Vous Plait from French Canadian way. We are just poor folk down here we need money desperately please send us rebates via the gov here every year. Please see it in your heart to make them give us what they can.

half flags for Abdulla

you know you live in a screwed up country when you fly flags at half mast for trash like him. Here he represented a entire country where it’s illegal to be a christian, a real open mind and a thinker right? and then you have the royal family who gladly flies flags half mast in his honor, but they weren’t even sure if they should fly a flag at half mast for Princess Diana after her death. A screwed up world

Robbers target food delivery trucks in shortage-hit Venezuela

(Reuters) – Robbers and looters are targeting trucks carrying food across Venezuela in another sign of worsening shortages that have turned basics like flour and chicken into coveted booty.

Crime has long plagued shops and roads in Venezuela, which has one of the world’s highest murder rates.

But widespread shortages due to a restriction of dollars for imports have worsened since the New Year.

This has made food delivery increasingly risky even as certain trucks have been fitted with GPS devices and are sometimes protected by private security agents.

“I won’t transport food anymore because the streets are too dangerous,” said Orlando Garcia, a 37-year-old driver from the western state of Tachira who has been ambushed twice as he crisscrossed the country.

“They put screws on the road (to burst your tires), and when you stop to fix the tire they attack you,” said Garcia, who now refuses to work past midnight and will only transport plastics.
