”We can’t raise public employee wages because it will kill jobs.”

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 21:30 on February 26, 2015

Did you ever hear the mass media say…”We can’t raise the minimum wage because it would kill jobs”?

Well, in my area we have lots of closed up businesses. Because the rents are too high. Small businesses are afraid to pass on the increase to customers. Why are the rents too high?

Because the property taxes are too high, forcing the land lords to pass it on to tenants. Eventually the business closes down and they lay off employees.

Why are the property taxes so high? Because tax absorbing public employees in unions get very generous pay and benefits.

You will NEVER hear in the gov’t media….

”We can’t raise public employees wage because it will kill jobs.”

But that’s what happened. On account of constant raises for school teachers, police, the highway dept, the librarian, etc etc, the rents go up, kill profits, close stores and kill jobs.”

Note:
Minimum wage in 1962 was $1.25/hr. 1000 times minimum wage $1,250 bought the cheapest new car, a loaded VW Beetle. A stripped one was $995. 1000 times todays $7.50/hr is $7,500. No new cars are $7500. The cheapest new car today with sales tax etc $19,000?? So minimum wage today should be $19/hr adjusted for inflation.

Henry Ford paid is workers double the market rate. $5 per day instead if $2.50/day. To enable his employees to buy his cars, to increase production numbers, and get per unit costs lower. It worked.

Home Depot, Wall Mart, etc hired foreigners for their production. They are closing a Sears and Wall Mart near me on Long Island. Property taxes on a small home here are $9,000 and up. Some small stores have $60,000 tax bills.

Henry Ford would NEVER have his cars made overseas.

Provocation? NATO Conducts Military Maneuvers 300 Yards From Russia’s Border

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Daniel McAdams via The Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity,

When a Russian bomber flew over international waters some 25 miles off the southwest tip of England last week, UK Defense Secretary Michael Fallon called Russia “a real and present danger.” The UK government scrambled jet fighters to meet the Russian aircraft as a show of force.

Said Secretary Fallon of the incident, “NATO has to be ready for any kind of aggression from Russia, whatever form it takes.” He added that, “NATO is getting ready,” warning particularly that Russia may soon move to invade the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Reading the feverish Twitter feed of NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Gen. Phil Breedlove, one would get the impression that NATO is already at war with Russia. Fighter jets sit menacingly atop aircraft carriers as the General beams about NATO member countries’ commitment to contribute to the fight.

Carly Fiorina Attacks Hillary Clinton at CPAC

Thursday, 26 Feb 2015 14:33 PM
Potential Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina took on Hillary Clinton in her speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday, questioning the former secretary of state’s record and launching an apparent attack on contributions that her family’s foundation received from foreign governments.

“Mrs. Clinton, please name an accomplishment,” Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO and Senate candidate, said. “And in the meantime, please explain why we should accept that the millions and millions of dollars that have flowed into the Clinton Global Initiative from foreign governments does not represent a conflict of interest.”

She also hit the presumed frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic nomination on her record on women’s right, the Benghazi attacks, and her approach to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I have met Vladimir Putin, and I know that his ambition will not be deterred by a gimmicky red reset button,” she said.

The mentions of Clinton prompted boos from the audience and applause for Fiorina.

She linked herself with another politician who has occasionally vexed Clinton, though from the other side of the political spectrum.

“Elizabeth Warren is right: Crony capitalism is indeed alive and well,” Fiorina said. “Government and government programs have grown so big, so powerful, so costly, and so complex that only the big and the powerful can prosper.”

She said Warren, the liberal Massachusetts senator, was wrong on solutions but was committed to Main Street and small businesses.

Fiorina also addressed speculation that she’s running for president obliquely, saying in a question-and-answer session after her speech that Republicans can appeal to women.

“We are not a special interest group; we are the majority of the nation,” she said. “If Hillary Clinton had to face me on the debate stage, at the very least she would have a hitch in her swing.” The audience—gathered in a hotel ballroom in National Harbor, Md., near Washington—greeted the line with whoops.
Fiorina, who has not held public office and has been a big draw at the annual conference, spoke about personal topics like her childhood, her time at Stanford, and the loss of her daughter, as well as her work for a nine-person real-estate firm after college and her leadership of HP.

She also showed off her links to foreign leaders like Putin, King Abdullah of Jordan, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and she slammed President Obama for his handling of the terrorist group Islamic State.

Ted Cruz: ‘Reassemble the Reagan Coalition’ and Fight for Conservatives

By Courtney Coren
Thursday, 26 Feb 2015 15:58 PM
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that the way you know which Republican candidate to support for president in 2016 is to look for the candidate who fights for conservative principles.

“How do we differentiate” between the crowded field of candidates? Cruz asked the audience Thursday afternoon.

“We all know that in a campaign, every candidate comes up and says they’re the most conservative,” the Texas Republican said.

“We have a way to tell the difference,” Cruz said, then cited a verse from the Bible, which says, “you shall know them by their fruits.”

“Demand action, not talk,” he said. “If a candidate tells you they oppose Obamacare, ‘Fantastic, when have you fought against it?’ ”

The Republican presidential hopeful then cited a litany of issues including the nation’s debt, amnesty, First Amendment rights, religious liberty, the Second Amendment, traditional marriage, Common Core, support for Israel, as well as a nuclear Iran.

With each issue, ask the candidates ” ‘when have you stood up and fought against it?’ ” Cruz said.

“Talk is cheap,” he told the CPAC audience. “Actions speak far, far louder than words.

“We need to look to the people that walk the walk and talk the talk.”

In addition, Cruz said that “America is in jeopardy and we are met today on a great battlefield.”

And it’s going to be up to conservatives to “turn the country around” and reignite “the miracle of America.”

To do this Cruz said that Republicans must “reassemble the Reagan coalition” of fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, national security conservatives and Reagan Democrats.

He said that Republicans must “stand with the people not with Washington” on every issue from Obamacare to amnesty to “power over the Internet.”

Cruz didn’t speak from behind the podium, but on a lower stage where he could walk around as he spoke.

He opened with a joke, saying that “there’s not a single Democrat here. It’s almost like CPAC invited [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu to speak.

“We could have had Hillary here, but we couldn’t find a foreign nation to foot the bill,” he added.

Cruz also took questions from Fox News host Sean Hannity, who asked what a Cruz presidency would look like.

“Number one, repeal every blasted word of Obamacare,” the Texas Republican said.

“Number two, abolish the IRS” and “take all 125,000 IRS agents and put them on our southern border.”

He said he will also “stop out of control regulations at the EPA” and other federal bureaucracies, “defend constitutional rights,” and “restore America’s leadership in the world as a ‘Shining City on a Hill.’ ”

Yes, I am familiar with the Shemitah stuff.

You asked:  “I wonder if they’re man-made events or predictable with your astrology.”

It doesn’t matter if events are man-made or not, anything that occurs on planet earth is depicted in the heavens.  As Above, So Below.

i think maybe somebody dropped a decimal.  the article talks about two troy ounces of gold in each watch.  in the scale of wristwatches two troy ounces (62.2 grams) is huge.  nobody’s going to carry two ounces of gold (or anything else) on their wrist.  never mind the working parts and the band, this would make it the heaviest watch on the market by a wide margin.  apple has a reputation for light products.  0.2 oz?  that’s closer to wristwatch scale.

Shhh Keep this a secret !

I wonder if they’re man-made events or predictable with your astrology.

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Best-selling author of “The Harbinger,”Jonathan Cahn, is worried about America. Cahn, whose new book “Mystery of the Shemitah,”warns, “Everything is converging around this time (which is based on 7 year cycles). I believe we need to be ready, and that’s why I believe I had to write the ‘Mystery of the Shemitah.’ I believe a great shaking is coming. Whether it is in these parameters, or around these parameters, or after these parameters, a great shaking is coming to America and we need to be ready.” Cahn goes on to say, “I believe we have a house of cards. We had that in 2007 and 2008, and everything was wiped out, and we said now we are not going to do this anymore, and we have gotten worse since then. What I have noticed is there are times when this phenomenon is stronger, and if you look at the 1930’s where you have the Great Depression . . . then the 1970’s and onward. The key thing, when you look at those two periods, is this comes at a time when America’s debt was at its peak. Now, this debt level, this house of cards, is astronomical. What that tells me, the phenomenon of the Shemitah is all the more powerful. I believe . . . we are going to see a collapse of this house of cards.”

How do you get ready for this collapse? Cahn, who is a Christian minister, says, “The first thing is if you are listening to this and you are not right with God, get your life right because America is rapidly accelerating into a moral collapse and a spiritual collapse. That’s part of the picture, and the economic part follows that. But the first thing is get your life right with God. I will also say I am a minister. If you are not born again, get born again no matter what your religion is.”

Cahn goes on to say, “Number two, the Bible says a prudent man prepares. What do you do? I am not a financial expert, but I will speak for myself . . . in general, I would not be putting my stock in the stock market or have things attached to it. . . . You should also have essentials in store so if there is a collapse of not only markets but of infrastructure and services, and these things should break down, that you would be okay for this time period. I am not a survivalist. I am more of a revivalist. . . . We say things will always work perfectly, and I don’t believe things will always work perfectly. I believe we are at the verge of collapse.”

On the stock market, Cahn goes on to explain, “I want people to be aware and be warned . . . . In the last 40 years . . . you have these collapses in the markets, long term collapses. The dates are 1973, 1980, 1987, 2000 and 2007. Every single one of them is on the seven year cycle. Not only that, every single one of them happens at the time of the Shemitah. It’s not just a 7 year cycle, but on the exact appointed time. This has happened every single time, and the last two have been so exact . . . what you have in the greatest stock market point crash, September 17 caused by 9/11. That day that it crashed is “Elul 29,” the day that is appointed in the Bible of an exact date you have to wipe out financial accounts and becomes a sign of warning of a nation under judgment. On the exact day, September 17, 2001, you have “Elul 29″ that happens not just once a year, Elul 29 happens every seven years. Then, that record stays for the next seven years until you get to the great crash of the great recession. The greatest crash in history, September 29, 2008, they ring the bell, and the bell refuses to ring. They take that as a sign, and on that day comes the greatest crash in American history. Not only on that day, but it was the wipe-out day of the Shemitah that happens only once every 7 years. So, the two greatest crashes happened exactly 7 Biblical years apart, down to the day, down to the hour, and down to the minute. We need to be aware because we have entered the year of the Shemitah, now. The beginning of the Shemitah is very un-dramatic . . . but if something is going to happen this cycle, the pattern is that it happens at the end of the cycle. That focuses around the time of September. This is a time when some of the biggest crashes have happened.”

Astrology: Full Moon March 2015 – USA

Posted by Moggy @ 16:34 on February 26, 2015

Full Moon March 2015 USA

DATA:  MARCH 5, 2015 @ 1:08 P.M. – Washington, D.C.

The Virgo Full Moon falls into the 3rd house of communications and transportation…expect difficulties in these areas.  Understand that events often occur within a week prior to Full Moon.  With 29 degrees of Leo on the 3rd house cusp, we are in a critical situation with respect to both communication (Net Neutrality as of Feb. 26th) and transportation (food supply undeliverable?)  A Virgo Lunation entails settling working conditions through unions and their grievance committees.  As the Full Moon reconciles the Pluto/ASC opposition, more energy – therefore – focus, will be on 3rd house issues.

On a personal level, pay attention to your health and to those who are dependent upon you as well as your pets.  Make sure your vehicle is in tip-top condition.  Avoid hyper-critical and faultfinding people.

Fiery Mars in the 10th house conjoined Uranus is an explosive combination that symbolizes rebellion coupled with rash actions and surprising behavior…and speaks of he who would be emperor…and the fact that the aspect is exact just a few days before the Ides of March and 6th house Pluto is square…gives me hope that our military – ex or otherwise – will show an inclination to live up to their sworn allegiance to defend the Constitution.

Pluto in 6th (military) square Mars in 10th (pres) indicates a period of intense power struggles between the two factions…that could very well end with a violent attack.  In any contest between Pluto and another planet, it is Pluto who trumps.

C’mon, Are you buying a watch or are you buying Bullion? Make up your mind. But, the worst that I read today came from none other then the famous Otto Rock. Now, there is a site that I usually enjoy reading. Not today. Ok, so the guy is hung up on TA and truly doesn’t know his A$$ from his elbow about it. Understood. But, Otto always deflects on TA to a mindless, non talented TA guy named Gary over at Biwii. Talk about the blind leading the blind!!!!! Gary thinks that Gold is making higher highs and higher lows…LOL,LOL. This is because the Nov low rose and then declined some before topping out at $1295 (weekly chart) That was all one cycle run you Gary IDIOT.

The Int. cycle high before that came in July @ 1340. So, we made another in a series of lower Int highs. God, please help us with these kind of advisors.

That’s just peachy

Is that a Persian?

Last week we had a lodger. Looked like an old man of a cat, bedraggled, really scruffy (no offence mate) and down in the dumps.  If it was human I would have said he was a boxer who had been punched in the face once too many times.

It looked like his tail was broken and he stank.

We did not expect him to survive, but he kept turning up and we gave him a little food and water.

We had to do something, so we took him to a vet, expecting that she would put him down.

But no, he cleaned up very well and had most of his tail amputated, but he was chipped.

They discovered that his owner had died recently – he lived 250 miles away.  Some story there!

He is a pedigree Persian and is looking quite a handsome old man now (but he is only five years old).  By law the vet has to ask permission from the owner’s relatives to do any more.  But she says that it will be easy to find him a good home.

A little light relief, Rich

Maybe two ounces if the bracelet is also gold .

I have noticed a trend to large gold watches , even for women . I had an exchange at the airport the other day with a young female agent who would have trouble tipping the scale at 100 pounds , wearing a humongous gold Rolex . At the time I thought ‘ Sugar Daddy must have been very grateful for something ! ‘ .  To be honest it looked ridiculous .

Maybe it was a counterfeit knock-off . I know check in agents do not make enough to afford a real gold Rolex .

THE FOUNDATION

“It is of definite moment that you should properly estimate the immense value of your national union to your collective and individual happiness; that you should cherish a cordial, habitual, and immovable attachment to it; accustoming yourselves to think and speak of it as of the palladium of your political safety and prosperity; watching for its preservation with jealous anxiety; discountenancing whatever may suggest even a suspicion that it can in any event be abandoned, and indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our country from the rest or to enfeeble the sacred ties which now link together the various part.” –George Washington, Farewell Address, 1796
