Somebody knows something

Yesterday, my wife and I attended her 50th high school reunion in Custer City, Oklahoma. The little town has one quick stop, the farmers co op, fire department and a senior citizens/community center. The former business district is one block, a common front and common brick walls circa early 1900’s. The old bank building (with vault) was purchased and being transformed into a residence. Another old commercial location is a finished residence. The interior of the finished unit was very obviously designed by a professional decorator in Arizona rural style.

Now the big question; why would anyone come from Arizona to rural western Oklahoma and build a very nice living area concealed in old downtown buildings. One of those buildings with a vault. Also, no city building permits, only statewide codes on plumbing, electrical, and heat and air. Those buildings are also owned by a LLC. The people involved are very successful  real estate developers in Arizona.

The nearest large city is 1:45 minutes away and the only industry is agricultural and oil field.

Maybe I should buy one of those old downtown structures for a hideout.

rno, who sometimes is the cockroach on the wedding!
