But allow me to point out some minor differences betwixt our two struggles. No offense intended of course. But you Brits are well mannered to the extreme, always have been. I remember the stories of my youth about how during our first struggle for freedom your troops wore bright red coats and marched in straight lines while we took pot shots from behind trees and rocks. Kinda cowardly of us I know, but hey, it worked. I am surprised you did not offer to reload our muskets for us.
Im guessing it was those manners that inspired Obama to give 150 Billion to the Iranians recently which by the way still continue to chant ‘Death to America’. Off the top of my head I cannot think of any other reason why he would have donated to that bunch of lunatics.
And I truly admire the traditional sportsmanlike conduct you folks exhibit. You win graciously even offering to shake hands with your defeated opponents. Americans once had such upbringing, but I am afraid even our politics has turned into a blood sport. The Demoncrats will never come to a table and sign a declaration of surrender and offer to join forces . More likely that they will strap on a suicide vest instead.
Hope I am wrong. I often am. I was pretty sure Trump was going to produce a more politically correct choice for VP. Maybe a black gay woman born in Mexico from Eskimo parents. Instead, he chose a man he thought best qualified to do the job. Thats our boy Trump, ignoring the politcal experts and pundits and just forging his own path. Cant help but love that man.
Seriously though, thanks for the Good News from across the pond. I think I am just as excited about what is happening in your country as the hopes I have for mine.
And listen, if things dont turn out like I hope, do you think I could apply for asylum over there? Im even ready to sign a document stating that starting a war over a little tea tax was really a stupid idea. In retrospect you understand. 🙂
