The door swung open a crack in the wind and a determined cat pushed in and made a beeline under the tables across the floor to the kitchen. The whole place went silent for a moment as everyone saw it. Then someone muttered in a low voice, “That’s the last we’ll see of that one.”
Everyone continued eating.
The place closed several years back when the owner retired… tired of cooking. But it was the best Chinese food around. Sen. Dan Inouye would frequent the place when he was home. Met him there once, greeting everyone in the restaurant. Class act.
