Packy and Ororeef

Packy that’s a good idea. The other thing I have to worry about is the pass to get in. If they let it go idol it will lock them out and you need your pass, they’ll start pushing numbers. So far it’s only been temporary disabled.

Ororeef that’s a lot of information. Yeah I know they will track you for adds. Windows 10 I won’t use because it’s too invasive and heard they can even control your computer from another and can see you even when it’s off etc but guessing most can see you.

Alex Valdor @ 19:43 The Good Old Days Cars

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 22:53 on January 20, 2018

This was like my first new car at 19 years old. $2589. Except mine was a black on black sport coupe, not a convertible, 264 HP and under 3,000 lbs. I wore out the back tires in 11,000 miles. Five of us classmates after graduating high school in 1962, bought these cars. This car was featured in the movie “My Cousin Vinny”.

The 1963 Pontiac Lemans is a truly unique automobile and for the longest period of time has been overlooked by collectors and overshadowed by the 1964 GT0. A true automotive buff ,knows that the 1963 Pontiac Lemans was the precursor to the musclecar. In mid 1963, Pontiac offered heavy duty suspension (springs, shocks, carbon metallic brake pads, oversize tires) 4 barrel carburetor , dual exhaust and 20:1 steering ratio coupled to a three tiger V-8 -326 HO cast iron block. All this was available in a very attractive lightweight compact body that featured a unique torque tube drivetrain with an independent rear transaxle suspension. In my travels, I have never seen one these models but I guess a few still exist and probably command a high price can you say “Son of Bobcat”.

Roger that, she’s honey. 🙂 1962 Lincoln Continental convertible. I think its a damn shame what happened to modern day cars. Unnecessarily complicated. The 1950s cars were the best imo. Still in use in Cuba.

American cars were still ok up to 1970, (1970 peak horsepower 375 HP from 350 cube) but you could see they were cheapening them up during the ’60s and down hill rabidly after 1972, because of unfair competition from under priced imports, they had to cut corners. Recycled steel, and they rusted out.

The 1950s cars had high quality thicker steel. Gresham’s law, the bad drives out the good.

Another thing I remember. The odometers only went to 100,000 miles. It was common for used car dealers to turn the clocks back. After the car changed hands a few times, the car would drop dead on the final owner, and the odometer said 95,000 miles but really had about 275,000 miles, so American cars got a bad reputation. Three year loans were common, and many bought new cars every three years.

I remember when we were kids, my friends father had a 1960 Oldsmobile two door hard top convertible they called it. His father was a salesman. He traded it in with 80,000. (We all loved that car, we called it the “shark”)

One night four of us were cruising the main drag, and we saw the used Olds on the front line in front of the Oldsmobile dealers lot. Naturally we pulled over to get our last look and memories of that car. Then a dealer comes out and opens the doors and starts to give us the sales pitch.

One of the boys got behind the wheel, and noticed the odometer was on only 5 miles. Then we confront the salesman. “His father owned this car and it had 80,000 miles on it. What the hell do you call this?” The salesman was a little shook up, and said they rebuilt the car.  The car was mint, and ran smooth and strong when traded in with 80k for a new 1965 model.

There’s gonna be some bombs going off in Turkey as well as the Kurds retaliate.

The idea that we are living in a computer simulation is thought provoking.

You don’t have to remove the Sim card. On the iPhone you can go to Settings and to get just Wifi you can either turn off cellular or turn on airplane mode.

Aufever=SLV calls=I didn’t buy but I think it’s good risk/reward-I am looking to buy, though…

Rolling back regulations often comes before a financial meltdown, according to 300 years of history

The blame for financial meltdowns often focuses on irresponsible traders and greedy bankers. But politicians, whose policies sometimes fan the flames, deserve scrutiny as well, according to a fascinating analysis of booms and busts since the 18th century by Jihad Dagher, an economist at the IMF. The research serves as a warning, of sorts, as the Trump administration seeks to relax banking regulations introduced after the last crisis.

Turkish Warplanes Begin “Massive Bombing” Of US-Backed Syrian Kurds

In a sharp escalation of Turkey’s military campaign against the US-backed Syrian Kurdish YPG, on Saturday Turkish warplanes fired missiles and launched “massive bombing” of Kurdish targets in Syria’s Afrin.

Dave Janda – interesting, could the Hawaii missile event been that a missile was really fired?

Thats precisely the reason I run three operating systems win 10 where everybody knows who you are and what your doing because microsoft sells everything you do to them ..its called information mining. It sounds harmless until government wants to exercise greater control over you !Then I use Apple iphone where the same thing applies ..you are for sale ..everything you do is information mining…Then I run a Linux operating system when I want some privacy and greater security from hackers ,russians, chinese ,N.Koreans looking to steal something .It separates the operating system from programs unlike microsoft where security is non existent unless you pay somebody for protection.Apple does what microsoft does and locks you in to thier system so as to extract the most money from you.Everything is extra ..data base, spreadsheets, word processors and everything you do is sold as information mining ,for anybody that wants to target you to sell you something .and now they are sharing some things about you so you cant use one of them against the other .The other system Linux ..Unbuntu in particular was designed to be open source programming was donated  and developed by contributors to stop the monopoly by microsoft and Apple and the constant money grabbing. The word processor is free,as is spreadsheet, data base and photo shop  program called GIMP that works every bit as good as “photoshop” the $600.0 program for free .updates are maintained ,virus are just about non existent by design.Ever user has a password and each has private info that is not co mingled with operating system or other users.everything is private. To make changes to the operating system requires password and can only be done by an administrator that has authority to do it.

I sign on as a user ,not as administrator  when I use it .So if I go to a dodgy site by mistake ..nobody there can change my operating system or enter another users info.each requires a password…if any virus are encountered are confined to that user only. Its like isolation during an epidemic ..it works. In ten years I have encountered none .my financial accounts are done on linux only .unlike Apple I can use streaming stock quotes via java .Unlike Microsoft everything I do is confined to the user only and not part of an operating system.Linuxs works on all Banks and Brokers I have used. When used with GUEST priviledges everything you did or visited is erased when you sign off.Everything you did as a USER is confined to that user only.Nobody mines my movements except the Browser I choose to use and I can stop all advertisers If choose to ..some give me free access to a program  if I allow an ad at my discretion like stockcharts ….Ubuntu(linux) works with all printers and older scanners too when Microsolt wont because they require to buy a new scanner because its “outdated”…I even use OOMA telephone system run through internet via one computer ,it gives me a “house phone” with call blocking unlimited calls anywhere . My phone bill $ $10/month ..no taxes, no line fees ,no bullshit fees from the local and state call answering recorded message recording ..its an internet phone with 911 service included. If power goes out I use my cell phone..

I dont get bothered with random callers for political crap because I dont answer it,if someone wants me ..leave a message, Dr.s included and if you are a personal friend you got my cell #.I dont give out my cell #

Political calls  NEVER leave a message..If there is a message a RED light blinks ..nobody wakes me up !

Im up at the crack of noon everyday unless I want check the market a 9 am..

Blockchain or BS?

Posted by eeos @ 8:23 on January 20, 2018

There’s quite a lot going on in the crypto space right now. ICO’s left and right. Talks of government-imposed regulations in South Korea. Allegations of a copied white paper, as well as copied code. And now China is cracking down on not only ICOs and bitcoin miners, but centralized exchanges as well.

But that’s just the bad stuff covered in the media. It sends prices down, so yeah people might be more interested in that.

I think there’s a lot more going on that doesn’t quite have a spotlight on it. I’m talking about bullshit projects.

A lot of shit is being peddled to investors disguised as innovation — when it’s really business as usual. It’s pretty easy to capitalize on this crypto craze right now. Take your business idea and write up a proposal, sprinkle the word blockchain here and there, and voila! If you position it correctly in the market and get enough people excited about it, you’ll have a decent ICO in the near future.

Okay I’m exaggerating, but with all these new blockchain projects being announced, it’s hard to believe that they are all truly innovating. Read more

You might have a point.lol Maybe I can find out how they do it. I hope there not getting into settings. I thought of deleting the icons but don’t want to take the chance on not being able to retrieve them. Since this is such a diverse state I do talk to Russians and Ukrainians who are probably being entertained by these show horses making asses out of themselves. They know it’s a political game. Schumer being the biggest ass. He might look in the mirror when he’s talking. He said he ” reluctantly” put it ” DACA” on the table. They threw in the Daca so they won’t have to negotiate illegal immigration later. They know it’s a Trump card and trying to get the Repub to throw it down with nothing from them in return. He’s so full of S.
He’s gonna find out these games aren’t gonna work with Trump or some of these repubs and people with half a brain can see right through him and these losers trying to import more Demos. The more people dependent on these losers the more they will try to use it to hold people to get what they want. Then after the shut down one Demo comes on like Mr nice guy trying to say he wants to avoid all this fighting and shut down. Really??!!! Then why did they do it when it wasn’t part of the bill in the first place??!! I remember state issues where some of us nurses were called indie to budget delays asking us if it’s okay to delay our pay so they could pay others. This current S show is beyond mismanagement its corruption.
