Loading ...Whoa… DUDE! Joe Walsh is one of my all time favorites. Caught him live at Asbury Park, NJ back in 1972 with the James Gang at the time. The whole auditorium was smoked up. At one point Joe got on the mic and yelled “Now put out that joint and CLAP!”
During my years of fandom, I didn’t know until just a few years ago that Joe is also a Ham Radio operator… and he does high speed morse code! Whenever I would hear an interview with Joe, I always thought he had a bit of brain damage from too much drugs. He speaks slow and hesitant. But in one interview I read in the ham magazine he said he has a ‘musical brain’ and he’s more comfortable expressing music on the guitar instead of speaking. This explains why he is proficient at high speed morse code…. it’s like music to his brain and he would rather do that than speak. Now I understand Joe’s brain. He put out a new album just a few years back, and I love the title song:
