Copy that Alex. I can tell you many similar stories of new fangled imported crap. But I’m shutting down now. Thanks for the comeback.

Mr. Copper – I have had enough of fancy imported appliances

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 22:09 on June 11, 2018

Which last only a few years , so I think if an American business would develop appliances with real long term value , they would sell . I have a GE fridge built domestically in 1983-84 which has been moved six times between three distant states ( SC to PA [4 moves there] to FL ) and which still runs flawlessly , and has NEVER been serviced .

Contrast that with a TV built in Asia , which cost over $7000 new ( LED , 4K , 3-D , etc.) which began to fail within two and a half years … just out of warranty.I am told the set is virtually irreparable because of the complexity and design .This from a company that once had an impeccable record of reliability in the 1960’s and 1970’s ! Once American manufacturers had been run out of business , the exporting companies cut back on reliability , apparently .

Re All This Trade and Tariff Hoopla

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 21:37 on June 11, 2018

This is really amusing to me, because when they started sharing or contributing our jobs after 1970, even before, I think it started gradually in 1962 actually. There was no news on it. No announcements about tariffs on our exports, nothing about raising our corporate taxes to 35% to encourage moving off shore, nothing. News black out.

Behind the scenes they decided which Americans jobs or industries were going to be “donated”. They never gave us any info to prevent us from complaining and resisting. Now that they are starting to slightly reverse the giveaway, they are announcing it to the world and they are all complaining and making threats. Ingrates.

I wonder if we will ever make our own TV sets and cars again.

P.S. What they did to the USA was worse that 100,000 Obama cares’. And nobody complained. In fact what they did to us CAUSED the need for Obama care. Small businesses didn’t have enough profits to provide healthcare insurance and dropped it. That’s why there was so many uninsured.

That sounds like a good one. There may be a better way to phrase it? Let me think on it.

I’m not sure everyone would be comfortable talking about physical holdings even though (as far as I know) it would be anonymous. What is truly anonymous on the internet?

Perhaps we could lump all PM investments together including mining shares etc.

Buygold @ 18:13

Posted by ipso facto @ 19:55 on June 11, 2018

He sounded like he was making some sense on that one.

Hell anyone would be angry if they’ve been holding PMs for the past few years. Let my people go! 🙂

IPSO – I have a suggestion for a poll

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 19:05 on June 11, 2018

It might be interesting to have an idea of the current dollar value ratio of Physical PM’s to all other cumulative ‘paper’ wealth – lumping stocks , bonds , cash , etc. into the denominator , among our forum members . Maybe categories of : Zero to 10% , 10+% to 25% , 25+% to 50% , 50+% to 100% ( 100% being equal dollar amounts ), 100+% to 150% , and over 150% ???

Since it is a secret ballot , we can be honest .

It would be interesting to see if others are , like me , far over-exposed to the PM’s .

Wow Ipso

Posted by Buygold @ 18:13 on June 11, 2018

Denninger sounds like he must’ve been holding a bunch of pm’s for the last seven years.

Yes the US will always see Canada as good neighbors but politics and might me open season. Just like we didn’t see any offense in comments s about Obamination.

Equisetum, Maddog

Equisetum – yes, Floridagold has been instrumental in keeping our site going. This thing with Canada will blow over probably sooner than we think. Got to work with the Canadian army back in my military days. Good bunch of guys.

Maddog – samb was first, followed by Morris Hubbart and then Cliff Droke. 🙂

Close could have been worse but it is meaningless as to how they’ll treat us tomorrow – then we have the dreaded Fed meeting on Wednesday.

Why is Trueadu wearing fake eyebrows?

Eyebrow-gate is real: Justin Trudeau’s left eyebrow detached after meeting Trump

Thanks but don’t forget Floridagold too!

Everyone should know that Canada and the US will always be Buds ever though there might be disagreements along the way.

I’ve seen worse closes….who knows.

Unless you have cash on hand it won’t matter if it’s crypto or your ATM or credit card. None will work. Another danger of cashless society.

Nk What does it say about these alledged refugees if their own country don’t want them back. S Arabia doesn’t want them either. They are more a family place and isolate the single men from the family people where woman and children are around less they’re married and the wife is with them. Something like that. They don’t trust them. These so called immigrants would know what would happen to them there if they walked around targeting women and children there.
I don’t think they’d go to NK even if they let them.

@ipso facto re Problems With Globalization .

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:58 on June 11, 2018

In today’s paper there was a story about a part of Spain that wants independence. A 124 mile long protest of people hand in hand. Why is it that the taxpayers always have to fight against things that their gov’t wants? Because they don’t have their own gov’t re global issues.

Trelawney vaults 41% as IAMGOLD gets more Canada-focused

IAMGOLD will pay about C$585 million in cash to acquire Canadian junior Trelawney Mining, the mid-tier gold producer announced on Friday.

Trelawney (TSX-V:TRR), whose main asset is the Cote Lake deposit in northern Ontario, shot up 41% on the news and was logging heavy volumes on the Toronto venture exchange. IAMGOLD paid $3.30 per share for Trelawney, which represented a 36.6% premium on the share price as of April 26.

The acquisition is expected to add to IAMGOLD’s stable of gold resources in a politically safe jurisdiction; last year the company sold its stake in the Tarkwa and Damang Mines in Ghana to Goldfields for $667 million.

but it’s probably good to not be too optimistic. NK are cagey negotiators … hope they are acting in good faith.

NK giving up nukes would likely help the cryptos. Less chance of an EMP strike on the US. 🙂
