Trump Says Blumenthal Lied About Vietnam (He Did) and Cried (He Didn’t)

Image: Senators Receive Closed Briefing On ISIL

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) arrives for an all-senators closed briefing on ISIL in the U.S. Capitol on July 19, 2017 in Washington, DC.Joe Raedle / Getty Images file

President Donald Trump on Monday unleashed a hostile tweetstorm on Sen. Richard Blumenthal, making a number of claims against the Connecticut Democrat, including that he had lied about serving in Vietnam.

Trump’s Twitter fusillade was apparently set off by Blumenthal’s appearance on CNN earlier Monday in which he spoke about the investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia. “I think it’s very important to protect and safeguard the independence and integrity of that investigation,” Blumenthal said.

Later Monday, Trump suggested Blumenthal take a long vacation in Vietnam “so he can at least say he was there.”

Let’s look at the facts:

What’s true: Years ago, Blumenthal did misrepresent his military service, repeatedly conflating his time in the Marine Reserves in Washington, D.C., with those who served overseas in Vietnam. The idea that he was a Vietnam veteran became an accepted part of his biography.

“When we returned, we saw nothing like this,” the senator said at a Connecticut rally in support of troops in 2003.

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” he said at another event in 2008.

In reality, the senator obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970, according to The New York Times’ 2010 expose that found Blumenthal had sometimes falsely claimed to have served in Vietnam; when he eventually enlisted in 1970, Blumenthal got a spot in the Marine Reserves, engaging in Washington drills and local projects like campground repairs.

He later apologized for misrepresenting his service, saying he regretted saying he’d served “in” Vietnam instead of “during” Vietnam.

What’s not true: There’s no evidence that Blumenthal bragged — as Trump claimed in the tweets — about “battles” or “conquests” or cried when the scandal erupted during his Senate bid.

“No and no,” a Blumenthal spokesman told NBC News on Monday when asked if the senator had bragged or cried.

Blumenthal himself hit back at Trump on Twitter, saying the president’s “bullying” wasn’t working.

Richard Blumenthal just finished his hatchet job on Kavanaugh in the Senate Hearings saying we need men of good character to be Supreme court justices ,we dont know enough about you !Maybe we need to know more about BLUMENTHAL !and he sits in Judgement of Kavanaugh ?

Posted by Ororeef @ 16:38 on September 4, 2018

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut rose and spoke of an earlier time in his life.

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. “And you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it — Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support.”

There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records.

The deferments allowed Mr. Blumenthal to complete his studies at Harvard.

(now he’s an educated LIAR)

Armstrong never liked him either and wrote a biography on him. It was speculated his fellow airmen who hated his privledged life style they had to hear ” probably one of those talk to the grandfather Admiral” left him which enabled his capture. That he covered up hos own confession which led to family’s not being able to find out about their left behind loved ones for his own self interest and government aspirations. While others were skinny from little food he was in good shape.
Admiral Denton talked about his experience with torture because he never talked and got beaten badly after a interview where he morose coded torture and openly said his loyalty is to his country. But yet the democrats disrespected him and discriminated against his believe in God which separates us from other third world dictatorship type Godless heathen lifestyles elsewhere. Like the grown chinese man riding on a turtle poking at it to move like a four year old child. No other word but heathens because they’re okay with bad treatment of wildlife and others with no teachings of a conscious. I remember at four trying to chase down a porcupine so I can pet it not hurt it but luckily was stopped or would of found out it wasn’t like a kitty real fast. I wounder how a child would be affected seeing grown men acting more childish than them torturing animals? Probably see them as monsters.

His father the Admiral had him transferred off of the Aircraft Carrier after 146 Sailors were killed .

Then he married for  money and got to use someone elses money to become a Senator ..

and That reminds me of another scum Senator; Kerry (KOHN)who claimed he didnt know he was a Jew during a Presidential Campaign  until a reported outed him and married the widow of Republican John Heinz for the Heinz ketchup fortune so he could run for Senator ..

I wonder how many more “Senators”  didnt EARN their money that got them the job.?

That scum from Massachusetts Kennedy that led the Propaganda of lies and with the media to deny a great jurist from becoming a Supreme court judge ..now the new President is trying to get better jurists , on the Court and replace those not fit to be there because of their NARROW views ..they are only there because they are “Special “interest judges  catering to a small select proportion of the population led by feminist communist supporters like Kagen , Ginsberg,Sotomayor ..Its a Court that ignores 50 % 0f the population …mainly the  men …and narrowly write laws to favor the GAY 6 % of the population..Thats why theres so much division in the country.Enough already ,its supposed to be about the LAW not a popularity contest for special interests.

$2.63 is the commodity futures price for copper, not the fabricated price.  $2.63 is the price fabricators pay (today) for delivery of industrial supplies of copper at some future date.

You can’t buy copper at 2.63 unless you buy scrap. Did you open the link? Go to coin shows and see what they want foe 1 oz Copper rounds or bars. Go to Home Depot and buy a roll of Copper tubing. The Kitco or wall street price is bull shit.

I was a precision sheet metal mechanic. Design fabricate and install. I was always buying metals retail, and selling the drop offs or scrap to recyclers. Some of these prices are not much higher than 30 or more years ago.

Copper scrap today $2.99/lb

Watching Metals prices are like watching the Kavanaugh Hearings

Gold – Projecting Fear Or Optimism?

Authored by Mark Rzepczynski via Disciplined Systematic Global Macro Views blog,

Gold is hard to understand as an investment.

  • Sometimes it behaves like an inflation hedge but at other times it does not.
  • Sometimes it responds to the real cost of funds, and sometime it does not.
  • It can serve as a safe asset, yet it has sold-off in a crisis.
  • It can be the uncorrelated asset of frustration, but a longer examination tells us about investment deep investor expectations.
  • **************************************************************************
The author of this screed above is either a moron or he plays stupid.
All one needs to know is the FACT that gold (and silver) prices are manipulated and NOT ALLOWED to rise. When gold is called for delivery Comex sends “buyers” to London and only God knows what happens there. Guess, most of the buyers settle for spot price plus say 10 percent  IN CASH. Gold is playing the role of judge on the state of financial market and this is why powers that be manipulate it ignoring all fundamental reasons that should lead to the rise of gold price. Dollar drops, gold swoons, dollar goes up, gold swoons even more, China, India buys ungodly amounts of gold on the open market, gold price goes down! The same applies  to real interest rates, inflation and whole game of fundamental issues that should lead to rise of gold price but it does not.  Everyone who watches Comex gold market knows that at expiry date in futures gold market calls are made for way more gold that is available for delivery. Comex has no gold yet it controls the price via unlimited paper futures contracts where the ratio of gold available vs futures contracts approaches ratio of 500:1.
Gold will not be allowed to rise in normal, steady way. Gold price will change several fold over the weekend from like $1200 to 10 000. Then exchanges will call “force majeure” and fuck up all gold paper investors. Real gold will disappear from any markets for weeks until price will entice some sellers, be it at 10 000, 50 000 or whatever but then we will have hyperinflation.
Allowing gold to rise today equals to death sentence for fiat currencies, foremost US dollar. This is why unlimited amount of paper money will be used to keep it low like during last two years. But knowing the real state of financial market smart people understand that status quo cannot be extended much longer and this is the last call before real gold train departs from the markets. After financial collapse there will be no gold for sale or it will be sold at the price way beyond the reach of 99.99 percent of the people.

copper is NOT $19/lb.

$2.63/lb  as of today’s close.

(zinc approx. $1.10/LB)

Goldilocks Retail Copper Is $1.19 Per Ounce or $19 per Pound

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 14:46 on September 4, 2018

Interesting. They left the pennies behind. Pre 1982 Pennies are 95% pure copper. 140 copper pennies will give you 1 pound of copper. $1.40/lb. for something worth $19. If you have them melted down. Cost to smelt them I don’t know. In 1982 it was costing the US Mint .12 cents each to make a penny.

Re Snops.com:

Zinc pennies today? ” By 2012, production costs had risen to 2.41¢ per penny.”

“The current price discrepancy between the value of the metals in the coins and the value of the coins themselves has sparked a growing cottage industry of melting down cents to harvest for resale the copper and zinc they contain. The U.S. government has countered both by restricting the export of pennies and by making it illegal to melt them down. Coin melters could spend up to five years in prison for their pains.”

The revamped $100 bill costs 12.5 cents to produce — a 60% increase over the 7.8 cents it cost to print the older version of the bill.Oct 9, 2013.

Comment: If it costs 12 cents each for paper money, the 2.4 cents for copper metal pennies has to be wrong. Probably 2.4 cents PLUS the metal costs.

Retail Copper price.

Pennies, kids no longer find them useful. No more picking up pennies from the ground.
Back in 2005 someone stole my car right out of my drive way. I usually lock it so guess they got on another way. They pulled the key part apart and hot wired it and looks like they took it for a joy ride. It was covered with dirt and had dents all over it. They took anything of value in the car including some camping gear. I found a vintage doll at the flea market that of you squeezed a bulb attacked to the funny looking doll with a hose it would pull down its pants and moon you people got a kick out of. They took that too.
Point about pennies was I had a bunch of pennies in a compartment and took off my diamond earring once for a activity and stuck them under the pennies and kinda forgot about them being busy.
Well they took everything in the car but the pennies which saved my earnings from getting stolen so guessing they were young and too good for pennies.

Re The Reversal Of The Short Term Experiment 1913 to the 2008 Crash?

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:30 on September 4, 2018
Here’s a thought of mine that will sound strange. Its likely that the trends of the period 1913 to 2008, ended and went into reverse after the crash on ’08. Everything or Globalization, has gone into reverse if you think about it.
The Feds Notes aka US Dollar lost 98% of its value since 1913. Massive inflations generally end in a deflation. Maybe the US Dollar will gain value for the next 50 years. Remember Japan’s 30 some year deflation after 1989?
The central planners have One Ounce Gold Eagles with $50 stamped on them for a reason. Respect for the Original Gold backed  US Dollar. Probably because they KNEW what they were doing, and KNEW it would end one day after accomplishing their agendas of flooding the world with money and advances of countries and technologies ahead of their natural times.
The Dollars today are like pennies. We have a 20 trillion penny national debt. We have houses worth 400,000 Pennies each. Gasoline is 280 pennies per gallon.

This is a problem I see with ” moral authority.”

Posted by goldielocks @ 13:30 on September 4, 2018

Inner city has a whole bunch of teenage girls having baby’s when their baby’s themselves and daddy’s no where around.
Where’s their moral athroiry?
Aretha Franklin had her first child at 12 years old. I believe she was taken advantage of more than once with useless guys latching on to a rising star.
Same for these race baiter leaders using them.
I was with one of these singers grandchild age 13 when she was having a baby along with her family because of her age. She was the grandagughter of one of the Shirelles. Think the song soilder boy. Her and my youngest daughter would go see her on stage and she would point them out to the crowd. She grew up to be a model. She is mixed race pretty girl with long straight hair. Even now she’s hit by losers who think she had money because of her grandmother and was quite stressed out till I told her to turn the D computer off. There just losers who want something for nothing and she should be proud of her grandma for her accomplishments at a time when segregation ” was” in play. They had to go to back of restaurants to eat. No more so don’t listen to these guys. She’s at little more peace now. It had a opposite effect on her and she married a white guy who loves her and her sons the next born just last year after 16 years are half white.

Captain Hook Re Artificial Pricing Of Commodities

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:18 on September 4, 2018

Eventually the distorted price gets too far out of line, and reverses. When Oil got to $145 it was too profitable and they started fracking in the USA and flooded the markets with oil, and DOWN it went to $28/bbl.

Naturally the $28 price caused production limits, on top of more use and waste because it was so cheap, and now its going back up. The Dopey/Dollar also is “played” on the futures markets. How can there ever be any price stability or equilibrium.

These days remind me of the 1987 to 2000 stock and dot com bull market. As long as that market went up, investors did not care about ANYTHING else inflation related. Classic cars stamps coins etc. The Dollar was so high on 120, Silver was $4 Gold $250? Copper .46 cents, heating oil .42 cents, steel was practically free.

When Bush got in they started dropping the dollar from 120 and put a tariff on steel and lumber until the lower dollar lifted the prices. It was also the START of Gold doing 12% APY for next 12 years in a row. In fact as the general market declined for a few years after March ’00, but commodity stocks started climbing after March ’00 and lifted the numbers that helped and led the general market back up.

One of my astute FB friends of many brought this football player up and would of been better at representing NIkE than a anti American race baiter who came into a age of equality that enabled him to make something out of himself and a lot of money. To pay him for this when we have so many wounded warriors is just disputable.
Just more people who fear being called racist because they probably weren’t diverse enough in their lives to know when their being played instead of these people setting a example to move forward.

White guilt is black power. Have a older generation of black leaders milking it.
It’s not so much guilt but creating fear of being called a racists if you don’t agree with someone’s agenda.
White who fall for it are causing a codependency that helps nothing.
Since segregation is gone they don’t know what to do with themselves so use race as a moral authority. Why this kneeling is a fruitless action not done for a cause but to go along with others.
