political science 101:

why trump will never appoint nunes to anything:

nunes is a republican congressman from granolistan.

if nunes gets appointed to anything, that creates a vacancy for gov. brown to fill.  100% chance that brown would choose a democrap.

Trump should put someone vocal about going after the swamp like Nunes who is a savvy one with that and would be harder to fool cuz he knows what’s up. Doubt if he’d want to give up his current job.
I hope the people who needed to get out of the Hurricane path got out. Animals too.

nikki is not an attorney, but the attorney general job is a political job.  nikki is highly skilled in the political arena.  if she does become attorney general, she will have a couple battalions of lawyers working for her.

Yes some are disrespectful. Maybe she’s just tired of being on the road all the time plus dealing with God knows what. I liked her too.

Any Canadian know if this is true?

I liked Haley too. Not sure if she’s a lawyer but maybe Trump can fire Sessions and hire her.

We will know for sure if Trump and company pick a male representative. In many other countries, the men are prejudice and or disrespectful against woman. So why send woman out there? To “teach” them or set examples?

For non-chicken-sh*ts like me, the Nov. 16th 2018 JNUG call at about 55 or 56 cents could be a good speculation and  looks interesting…scared money doesn’t make money…the fair are for the brave and all that good stuff…etc etc

it looks like this one is going to be in the “wet” category.

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/093811.shtml?rainqpf#contents

treefrog manor is in the yellow stripe to the right of the projected path, anticipating 4 – 6 inches of rain.

all this is predicated on the meteorologist  –  geeks best guesses.  i have noticed that they have gotten pretty good at their art with the modern improvements in technology.  pretty good, but still a couple notches short of perfect.

the biggest uncertainty is the timing of the right turn in the storm path that all the models  are anticipating sometime in the next 24 – 36 hours.  if the turn happens sooner (and/or sharper) the impact on treefrog manor becomes more intense.  if later (and/or softer) it’s less intense.

it’s still something of a crap shoot.

edit:  i just checked the latest advisory and it looks like the projection is shifting slightly west (away from treefrog manor) and wind speed is up to 110 mph.  this one is a full – grown hurricane.  it WILL chew things up when/where it comes ashore.

Trump has accepted Nikki Haley’s resignation

President Trump has accepted Nikki Haley’s resignation as UN Ambassador, according to two sources briefed on their conversation. The timing of her departure is still unclear, the president promised a “big announcement” with her at 10:30 a.m.

What we’re hearing: Haley discussed her resignation with Trump last week when she visited him at the White House, these sources said. Her news shocked a number of senior foreign policy officials in the Trump administration.

Background: Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, was easily confirmed four days after President Trump’s inauguration in 2017.

She has overseen Trump’s shift in dealing with the UN, including the U.S. exit from the UN Human Rights Council, which Haley called the organization’s “greatest failure.”

Worth noting: Haley wrote a public op-ed in September challenging the N.Y. Times’ anonymous op-ed:

  • “I don’t agree with the president on everything. When there is disagreement, there is a right way and a wrong way to address it. I pick up the phone and call him or meet with him in person.”
  • “Like my colleagues in the Cabinet and on the National Security Council, I have very open access to the president. He does not shut out his advisers, and he does not demand that everyone agree with him. I can talk to him most any time, and I frequently do.”
  • “If I disagree with something and believe it is important enough to raise with the president, I do it. And he listens.”

He would have done pretty much the same routine no matter what, because that’s what he does: method performances of emotions lived out fresh onstage each time, moments from his life stamped into parables of the new agey Gospel of Cory, each one introduced with “I want to tell you a story …” In the Senate and in the presidential field taking shape, he’s more a bundle of feelings than an agenda.

No one walked out with any clue where Booker stands on almost any issue, aside from a riff that talked about the Democratic commitment to Medicaid, Medicare, voting rights, civil rights, LGBTQ rights, “the party of people who believe that someone who is nice to you but is not nice to the waiter is not a nice person.” (Booker greeted janitors backstage before the speech, and walked around the room again afterward, shaking hands that were dumping the leftover food into the trash.)

Re Cramer’s concern. He’s a little late, speaking after seeing and hearing some evidence of slowing. I expressed concern while hearing how great everything was. When everything is real bad like that 2008 crash, I got optimistic when all around me were scared stiff. A few months back, hearing about how great everything is, I mentioned to people around me…..”Now that everybody thinks everything is so good, don’t be surprised to see a slowdown” Who knows? Maybe it’s different this time. 🙂  I still think think the US economy is in the big eye of a big economic storm that was born after the 1971 unlinking the dollar and gold. With 2008 being the first eyewall hit.
