That is a very interesting question….had never occurred to me, but it might be the reason…though many gap openings just trade back to unch, as if an Algo had calculated that it frequently happens, so trade it.
I had alway thought it was part of the physco ops, to piss us off….which it does, but in such relatively thin stocks, it would be easy to open them well up, stuff the ETF buyers and then sell it all down and cover yr shorts.
After all you know the chinese walls, are non existent inside the EFT managers/creators.
