Loading ...It is an insanely complicated task to ask the spacecraft to do. The radio link takes over 6-1/2 hours to get there, and likewise for a return reply. Complicated moves must be calculated and uploaded and stored well in advance. And that weak radio link is only capable of about 1000 bits per second, so data takes a LOOONG time to load. They said that after the flyby, the data stored on the craft will take until mid-2020 to completely download. But we’re hoping for some ‘cherry-picked’ early image downloads.
