MESA COUNTY FINDS 574 UNCOUNTED BALLOTS IN BALLOT BOX FROM 2019 ELECTION
The Mesa County Clerk and Recorder is reviewing election procedures to make sure the mistake doesn’t happen again.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A total of 574 ballots submitted by voters in Mesa County during the 2019 Coordinated Election were found uncounted in a ballot box in Grand Junction, the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder announced Thursday.

The Los Angeles County Registrar is investigating how 83 ballots were sent to a single address at a San Pedro apartment.
The unused ballots were found on Saturday by tenant Jerry Mosna, sitting on top of the mailbox center at his apartment building in San Pedro. 
The ballots were all addressed to a two bedroom apartment upstairs from Mosna’s, belonging to an 89-year-old woman.

Stacks of vote-by-mail ballots have been left at Paterson apartment buildings raising concerns about people potentially being disenfranchised in the May municipal elections.
A dozen mail-in ballots were scattered on the floor of the Park East Terrace Apartment complex at 789 11th Avenue. Nearby at the Kent Village complex at 769 11th Avenue mail-in ballots were left on top of mailboxes.
