The people at the other companies likely knew perfectly well what was going on. But they couldn’t get too hard nosed about it!

Sorry for the mixup. Address on it’s way.

Speaking of checks…

Posted by Maya @ 22:03 on July 9, 2020

I remember as a college freshman I had an “Into to Business” class.  This was a mass-attendance lecture class in an auditorium of maybe 400.  It was a series of different instructors giving their perspectives as successful businessman.  One was a bit unorthodox but brutally truthful about business operations.

“What do you do when you have a cash crunch and you cannot pay your bills?  Income is maybe 60 to 90 days out and coming…. but in the mean time suppliers are clamoring to be paid on their 30 day billing cycle coming due now.  Nobody believes the “Check is in the mail” line anymore, so this is what I did.   I sent each supplier a payment check that was not signed.  Of course they all called, and I apologized for my ‘new secretary’, and told them each to send the check back and I would sign it.  That took some valuable time.  When I had all the checks back, and signed them, I still could not make them good,  so I sent Supplier A check to B, B to C, etc. and scrambled the return mail.  After more delays, the suppliers call again telling me they got the wrong check.  More apologies for my confused secretary, send the checks back and we will straighten this out.  Wait for the checks all to return again, wait for funds to be deposited by this time, and finally send out the valid payments.  This series of delaying tactics succeeded in smoothing over the cash crunch.”

We were all somewhat bemused by him admitting to this almost-shady deal, and impressed with his ingenuity.

I may have missed this…..

@ipso facto re “C Note”

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 21:19 on July 9, 2020

Stupid me, I thought the “C Note” that most all were sending in was a $50 bill. Good thing I saw your the 1/2 C Note post. I had to google C Note.  I’ll be mailing in the whole C Note. 🙂

You leaders deserve financial help for keeping this unique great Goldbug PMs “family” together all these years.

Something about the fundraiser

Posted by ipso facto @ 18:37 on July 9, 2020

Every nickel that we receive is going to Weston to pay for the website. (Except for the cost of the PO box) If we can get $1500 or $2k that would go a long way towards paying what we owe.

Out for a bit

HI Goldie Thanks for your pledge. I’ll call it 1 1/2 C-notes

Posted by ipso facto @ 18:30 on July 9, 2020

Let us know when your gonna say when your gonna tell us where to send it. I put in a C note and cover half a C note for Maya cuz I know he had to retire early but really wants to contribute too to lessen his load as SS Payments sucks less you go to 70 which Im trying to go for and still not enough to keep up with inflation.

Maya Thanks for your C-note pledge!

Virus disruptions nearly halve Endeavour Silver output … Don’t cry crimex!

Posted by ipso facto @ 16:25 on July 9, 2020

Canada’s Endeavour Silver (TSX: EDR) (NYSE: EXK) took a significant hit to production in the three months to the end of June, as operations were halted for two months to comply with the Mexican government’s efforts to halt the spread of the coronavirus.

During the quarter, the Vancouver-based precious metal miner churned out 596,545 ounces of silver and 5,817 gold ounces, for silver equivalent production of 1.06 million ounces.

The figures represent an output drop of 42% when compared to the 1.1 million ounces of silver and 9,558 gold ounces, or 1.82 million of silver equivalent ounces, Endeavour produced in the same period last year.

Well they tried to beat us down

Posted by Buygold @ 16:00 on July 9, 2020

but really not that bad, if that’s all they got. $1800 was breached but retaken pretty quickly. Silver was down a bunch but only down a dime or so now.

There’s a lot of strength in our little sector and let’s not forget that less than 1% of the folks hold pm investments. God help them if they are directed into GLD and SLV.

Looks like the dip buyers are stepping up to the plate
