Ipsofacto re FOMC Minutes Show Many Members Believe Rates Should Rise Sooner

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 14:34 on August 20, 2014

They are all full of crapola. They play games. On the gas…On the brakes etc each day each week etc. IF, IF, rates go up (bond crash) it would be a natural market force AGAINST their will.

So it makes sense for the Fed Bozos to “suggest” a possible rate rise just incase it happens, it will look like they wanted it. Hide loss of control.

Here comes the Fed minutes crush

Posted by Buygold @ 14:24 on August 20, 2014

Just like clockwork. Just normal market action.

OTOH, with as strong as the USD has been lately, it could be a lot worse.

The S&P has rallied

Posted by sbr @ 14:19 on August 20, 2014

1312 points since the bottom 5 years ago on the back of QE and ZIRP. A “hawkish” FED results in a sell-off of exactly ZERO points so far?

The CRB has collapsed and yields are globally toast. Manufacturing is in the dumps and disposable income sans banks has gone nowhere.

You jack rates because taxes are increasing?

Update: And all the volatility is in FX and the metals of course. S&P…no one cares.

THE MUSIC ALREADY DID STOP IN 2008

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 14:08 on August 20, 2014

We are seeing what happens ever since 2008. Look at all the hot spots and financial problems around the world. All because the US consumer failed in 2008, stopped paying off loans. “Cash for clunkers” to buy imports was a last gasp.

Believe it or not, the world gov’t is really trying to restore the USA for a future “harvest”. The USA is the “crop” that the rest lived off of. They kept us on artificial life support starting in ’75 and kept it up to the LAST minute. The crash in ’08.

FOMC Minutes Show Many Members Believe Rates Should Rise Sooner

Tyler Durden’s pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 08/20/2014 14:03 -0400

These are the minutes from when the Fed toned down deflation fears and raised concerns over labor slack, and expectations going in were for a slightly more hawkish tone from the minutes (and perhaps commentary on financial stability – bubbles – and exit strategies). This is what we got:

•*MANY FED OFFICIALS SAID JOB GAINS MIGHT BRING RATE RISE SOONER
•*FOMC AGREED BALANCE SHEET SHOULD BE CUT GRADUALLY, PREDICTABLY
•*SOME FOMC PARTICIPANTS MORE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH FORWARD GUIDANCE
Sounds pretty hawkish to us…

Pre-FOMC Minutes: S&P Futs 1982.5, 10Y 2.4175%, Gold $1294 , USDJPY 103.40, Oil $95.40

re but HA!…no inflation right??? …excuse my french

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:49 on August 20, 2014

When they talk “no inflation” what I think they are concerned about, finally, is no inflation in tax payer wages, needed to pay for inflation in tax absorber wages and other gov’t expenses.

If wages don’t climb enough, restaurants etc are afraid to raise prices, and cut throat each other, and cause deflation in profits, and less pay for tax payers wash rinse repeat.

Take a look at falling and low interest rates. A sign of not enough borrowers chasing too much money. There are trillions in various savings accounts.

Ecuador Rising: Dawn of a New Gold Rush

Posted by ipso facto @ 13:47 on August 20, 2014

TORONTO, Aug. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Ecuadorian government has announced plans to abolish the windfall tax which torpedoed Kinross Gold’s Fruta del Norte gold project.

Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa, recently stated on national radio that changes would be made to the country’s mining laws, which he acknowledged, “…have been a failure on the part of the government.” Mr. Correa has a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois.

The new taxation regime is expected to benefit companies like Ecuador Gold and Copper Corp. (EGX.V), which controls five deposits within the Condor Gold Project in southeast Ecuador including two development stage projects: Santa Barbara and Chinapintza — a joint venture with the Chinese Guangshou Group.

“The Ecuadorian government is working on a package of rule amendments to the mining code,” stated Ecuador Gold CEO, Glenn Laing, in an exclusive interview with Financial Press. “Sources within the ministry inform us that these new regulations are expected to be drafted sometime in Q4, 2014.”

The new mining laws are expected to change the investment risk profile of the country, creating interest from larger mining companies looking for big assets.

Video: O’Reilly on America’s Race Problem

http://www.cnsnews.com/video/national/oreilly-americas-race-problem

Story:

De Blasio vows to clamp down on shootings:

Part:
Additional NYPD data show that blacks and Hispanics continue to comprise almost all shooting victims this year. More than 97 percent of shooting victims through Aug. 12 — the date for which the most recent information on ethnicity is available — have been black and Hispanic, while 96 percent of the identifiable suspects also fit those racial and ethnic categories, an NYPD spokesman said.

“Our studies have shown that by and large the shootings occur in neighborhoods with large minority populations who are both the victims and, in cases we can identify, suspects. This is where the violence is taking place,” NYPD spokesman Stephen Davis said.

“It has been pretty much that way for decades,” agreed Professor Eugene O’Donnell of John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Comment:
It fits with my reversal predictions and observations. Usually the gov’t media including O’reilly, only admit something only after most people already know. To not admit something that everybody KNOWS, makes them look bad.

In yesterdays Newsday, a story about the increase in NYC shootings. It was the FIRST time (you second time) that I saw media finally fessing up.

To PROVE O’Reilly is Gov’t controlled, (or ill informed?) He mentions black poverty and the alleged wrong reasons for decline of Detroit, WITHOUT mentioning IMPORTS causing all the poverty.

Blacks used to be prosperous before off shoring. They used to buy expensive clothes, and more costly cars like Buicks Pontiacs and Cadillac’s.

My weird charting suggests that silver must retest its bottom again somewhere close to $18.60 area this month. If this happens then my old charts are in error and silver will hit a M/L double top around $52 when gold hits $2300 end of 2015. I won’t post the new chart until/unless we see that M/L $18.60 bottom again.   Silverngold

Posted by drb2 @ 12:11 on August 20, 2014

the past few posts have left me more dazed and confused than usual.

I thought the Tent-a-Thon was cancelled (see post below)

Do I send a check, or not?

drb — i thank you kindly but

Posted by WANKA @ 0:10 on August 15, 2014 -edit-

we just had in a short 5 hours a tent-a-thon that wasn’t a tent-a-thon but was a tent-a-thon even though it wasn’t a tent-a-thon that i was going to have come saturday starting at high noon but then there was this onslaught of pre-tent-a-thon pledges that in the brief time of these 5 short hours simply filled all the positions open and completed a tent-a-thon that wasn’t. we made history in the book of world records completing a tent-a-thon for our setup costs without a tent-a-thon and now having to cancell the saturday tent-a-thon for the overwhelming support of pre-tent-a-thon pledges. i have in all these years never even heard of a tent-a-thon that was cancelled due to an abundance of support before it began. so in making a short story as long as possible i really thank you for your intent but if you send the 1/2c-note i’ll only go and drink it up since i’m now unemployed with a cancelled tent-a-thon due to the success of not having one. whew i’m glad that makes sense to somebody!

Off Topic but fascinating to me

This is a chart of the $CRB and silver overlaid.  Again, where is the threat of a rate rise with the $CRB acting like this? Look for a reversal.

ASTROLOGY: MARS CONJUNCT SATURN – AUGUST 25, 2014…Heads Up!

Posted by Moggy @ 11:01 on August 20, 2014

MARS CONJUNCT SATURN AUGUST 2014

DATA: AUGUST 25, 2014 @ 4 P.M. – WASHINGTON, D.C.

Mars symbolizes energy, passion, aggression and drive.

Saturn symbolizes structure, order, contraction, limitation, discipline, responsibility, poverty.

When Mars occupies the same zodiacal space as slower-moving Saturn, all that planetary drive comes to a screeching halt. What can be expected is frustration to the max. On both the 25th and 26th of August you would be well served not to plan to launch any new activity because chances are you will fail, as the necessary vigor and power for accomplishment are held in check. These would be fine days to go it alone because others will irritate you or worse, they may take action that are destructive to your interests.

Choosing to seethe in silence would be counter-productive as the result is to endanger yourself because this combination of planets will not afford the opportunity to express your anger thus you could attract to yourself an accident or turn the unexpressed anger on your body…a good way to end up with gallbladder issues, inflammations, infections and muscle issues.

Should you feel anger under this transit, find some hard work to do (but avoid working with cutting tools) and go to it as that will dissipate the energy, making it possible for you to be able to face the problem without anger getting into the mix.

The best way to use the Mars/Saturn energy is to have at the ready work that requires concentrated energy, great discipline or careful technique.

That is my belief and my hope.  But it is still very murky in these waters, and I am concerned about so many fingers in the pie, and people with agendas beyond the simple truth, and accompanying justice (even if I am wrong and that truth and justice were to go against the officer).
