Waldorf to Be Biggest Chinese Property Purchase in U.S.

New York City’s Waldorf Astoria hotel is set to become the biggest prize yet for buyers from China who have been pouring money into U.S. real estate as they seek stable investments outside their country.

Beijing’s Anbang Insurance Group Co. agreed to pay $1.95 billion for the 1,232-room tower on Park Avenue, an Art Deco landmark and one of Manhattan’s signature properties. That would be the highest price for a single existing hotel in the country, and the most paid for a standing U.S. building by a Chinese buyer, said Kevin Mallory, global head of the hotels unit of commercial real estate brokerage CBRE Group Inc.

“We’re seeing a diversification strategy being employed by insurance companies and others, and it’s also true when it comes to private Chinese investors,” he said in a telephone interview. “We’ve seen a lot of wealth generated there over the last decade, and we see see private investors diversifying their portfolio around the globe.”

The Waldorf deal follows such high-profile New York acquisitions as Shanghai-based Greenland Holding Group Inc.’s purchase this year of a 70 percent interest in the Atlantic Yards project in Brooklyn. In late 2013, billionaire Guo Guangchang’s Fosun International Ltd. paid $725 million for lower Manhattan’s 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza, the former headquarters of Chase Manhattan Bank.

‘Weak and uneven’: IMF cuts global growth forecast

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has downgraded its global growth forecast for both this year and next, as a divergence emerges between those economies that are recovering—and those that are not.

The organization, which represents 188 countries, now expects world growth to come in at 3.3 percent in 2014, down 0.1 percent from its forecast in July. While in 2015, it expects growth of 3.8 percent, down 0.2 percent from earlier expectations.

Thank you for the prompting on the Essential Oils.  I recently moved and things are still is disarray.  You prompted me to get digging into the boxes to find my EO stock!  I also went and placed an order for more.  I get my EO blends from the native medicine crafters at http://www.nativeamericannutritionals.com/.  They have different names for their blends, but the content is the same.  They have a cross-reference list for their names  vs Young Living names vs doTerra names.  These are “sacred copal” theraputic grade oils that I believe are also sourced from the Liberty Natural folks.  The liberty natural website has some nice reference information, too!  Thanks for that.

One item that may be of interest to everyone for stimulating and maintaining their immune systems is the supplement called “DEFENSE” from

http://www.nativeamericannutritionals.com/defense.htm

This stuff has been shown to increase immune cell production 4,000% some 20 hours after taking it.

Commercials Betting On Big Dollar Downturn

McClellan Financial Publications, Inc

The U.S. Dollar Index has recently been in one of the biggest blowoff moves we have seen in years. The lesson of the past blowoffs is that the downward slope out of the eventual top tends to symmetrically match the slope of the advance up into it.

This week’s chart shows us that the commercial traders of various currency futures contracts are already making a huge bet on a dollar decline. The indicator in the chart is one that I created several years ago by combining the commercial traders’ net position in multiple currency futures contracts into a single indicator. It does not include all of the currency related contracts which are now featured in the most recent Commitment of Traders (COT) reports, because they do not all have the same lengthy and consistent history of reporting. This indicator combines the commercials’ net position in the euro, yen, pound, Mexican peso, Swiss franc, Canadian dollar, and US Dollar Index futures, each weighted according to the dollar value of each position.

they’d never bring any work to my firm, because I’d never hire them. People need to have the skill set to do the job. They need us, not the other way around. The types of dinasours I’m referring to might as well just tell people they’re in business development. Larger firms have plenty of these good ole boys. I love it, ring the register
