Putin Warns Of Risk Of Major Conflict, Says Dollar Losing Reserve Currency Status

Tyler Durden's picture

Having been relatively quiet for a while, Russia’s leader Vladimir, speaking in Sochi (following meetings with Middle East crown princes who confirmed Russia as a key partner – “isolated”?), has unleashed his most aggressive statements with regard the failing world order:

  • *PUTIN SAYS U.S. DOLLAR LOSING TRUST AS RESERVE CURRENCY
  • *PUTIN: WORLD WITHOUT RULES IS POSSIBILITY; ANARCHY GROWING

drb2 @ 15:02 Silver

Posted by Ororeef @ 15:34 on October 24, 2014

I suggest they hold Silver back from sales ,and let the physical shortage get desperate in order to solve the price problem. Why not ..IF its not making the Stock Price go up why sell it ? No miner should keep his mine open   with sales below cost ! Its a wasting asset when they mine it !Its stupid.!Don’t sell it,borrow money to pay expenses ,but don’t sell PHYSICAL !  ,Buy Physical and store it awaiting higher prices ..Its cheaper to buy Physical than to mine it ! With interest rates at zero its cheaper to borrow money than to mine and sell Silver..Borrow the money you need and Stockpile the Physical !

Lots of Friday news. Iran to deploy 4,000 troops to Syria

Posted by Buygold @ 15:31 on October 24, 2014

“Iran will deploy 4,000 Revolutionary Guards to Syria to bolster Damascus against a mostly Sunni-led insurgency, media reported. Meanwhile, US F-16s and Patriots will stay in Jordan – speculatively, to help establish a no-fly zone to aid Syrian rebels.

The deployment of the first several-thousand strong military contingent was reported by The Independent on Sunday who quoted Iranian sources tied to the state’s security apparatus. The sources said the move signals Iran’s intention to drastically step up its efforts to preserve the government of President Bashar Assad.”

Charities to Help Africa

Posted by Ororeef @ 15:19 on October 24, 2014

Where are the Islamic Charities ? Where are they? certainly they have Billions from oil revenues why aren’t they helping Africa ..most of them are Muslims too.!

Nigeria has plenty of money from Oil !

China has plenty of money to invest in West Africa ..they should give something BACK  instead of just taking Resources.

What kind of religion prevents them from sharing Resources to their own?

Shame on them !

Yes, yes,….we know this========Gold stocks are historically cheap….

This quote from famous hedge fund manager Barton Biggs is apropos:

Secular bear markets in the past have always taken valuations back to the levels at which the preceding bull market started, or even lower. Price to book value is the most stable measure of value, because it is not sensitive to the cyclical swings of the economy as all measures of earnings are.

Given that many senior gold producers are currently trading below book value (share price/book value <1.0) and sentiment couldn’t be worse on the sector, all the ingredients are in place for a bear market bottom. The 2008 GFC took valuations in the sector right down to a price/book value of 1.0 before sharply reversing back above 3.0 twelve months later.

The difference between now and late-2008 is that while valuations are cheaper than ever before, in late-2008 there were several major bullish catalysts that were on the verge of coming to the fore (China stimulus, US stimulus, global central bank balance sheet expansions, etc.). In the current climate it is difficult to foresee the catalysts that will ignite gold shares to rise from the ashes. It is more likely that this bottoming process, which began last summer has another 6-9 months left in it.

The current dynamic in the gold mining space reminds us of one of our favorite investing quotes from legendary investment manager Howard Marks:
When everyone believes something is risky, their unwillingness to buy usually reduces it’s price to the point where it’s not risky at all. Broadly negative opinion can make it the least risky thing since all optimism has been driven out of it’s price.
Make no mistake, fortunes will be made by those who invest wisely in the gold space during this period. However, investors will need time and patience.

goldielocks @ 12:25 Orphans in Africa

Posted by Ororeef @ 15:05 on October 24, 2014

belong in Africa. The responsibility belongs to the Leadership of African nations and its people to care for their own. Many of its Leaders are millionaires.

Lets not forget what happened in Romania when the Communist Ceausescu took children from their own people and sold them for adoption for $10,000 each.

Then they empty the Hospital Wards of mental disturbed children and crippled children to set them up for adoption to unsuspecting Americans who had no idea the problems these children had. They made suckers of Americans of good will ! Lets not be used like that again, our health care system can’t deal with it,or afford it,with so many Americans going without ,just to pay Healthcare premiums and with 50 % on Food stamps what happens when that ends !Africa Orphans belong in Africa just as Romanias orphans belonged in Romania .The Romania Governing family lived in a Mansion worth millions and the maids were threatened with loss of jobs if they even talked about how much wealth they had .This is not a dumping ground for the rest of the world, they need to take responsibility for thier own and the problems their Government systems create.

We can assist with Food, medicine and education, but that does not mean we take responsibility …by IMPORTING  THIER problems.

@ ISPO – miners should form a silver cartel

Posted by drb2 @ 15:02 on October 24, 2014

Finally!!   a miner with some gumption!!    this is the best news I have heard in a long time.

I am going to send this to every miserable silver and gold miner that I own and tell them to support him or expain to me in writing why they won’t.  I encourage everyone else to do the same.

Mr.Copper @ 9:49 Obamas Shared Prosperity !

Posted by Ororeef @ 14:39 on October 24, 2014

What it  really means is theft from those who earned it to those that did nothing for it.!

No investment in time, savings or effort.

The result is always Shared Poverty for those that worked to stop poverty.

Shared disease for those that took precautions.

Shared RESULTS of Irresponsibility to those that acted responsibly.

The country is poor thanks to their lawless gov and they probably wouldn’t get the best of care. Because if they were sick like the doctor who was transferred here sick there would be precautions and the only ones in jeopardy of getting sick are other workers who also know what their getting into. So that’s between them. I’ve seen panic before and often seen the same kinda people who whine and complain in so many situations are potentially the same people who then want to jump in front of others to be saved when the time comes. If it’s someone else who’s in trouble that’s their problem but when it’s them it’s a different story. Even had a dam don’t patient who I pulled out of a hospital fire who didn’t care about others I was gonna pull out next cuz there was only me left that the smoke didn’t get to, to get his glasses that were more important to him than people apparently. That’s just the way it was.

@ FG and Wanka…LOL, LOL, LOL!!!

@ Goldi…there is no reason why Americans who choose to endanger their lives to help others in Africa cannot remain in Africa to be treated.  Hasn’t our illustrious (gag) president sent 1600 American soldiers over to W. Africa to build treating facilities for Ebola patients?  So let those Americans who deliberately exposed themselves remain there in quarantine or to be treated, they’d have the best of care and then would not put our children at risk.  A win-win situation.

Ebola “Plandemic”

Posted by silverngold @ 12:51 on October 24, 2014

Not a misspelling!! If they don’t allow a few cases to slip into the US, or at least the possibility of it coming through the borders via illegals or returning citizens, they will not be able to use chemtrails and other intentional means to spread this created Ebola “plandemic” across the US without arousing suspicion that it is intentionally being used as a depopulation agenda. All IMO of course…..but give it some thought, especially as Ebola spreads far and wide in some “mysterious” way!!

I agree with these developers as real estate that promote illegal immigration or even uninteded consequences. After the Sylmar Quake developers build housing that was pretty nice and low cost meant for start up family’s starving students et all but the illegals moved in crowded them out.

I understand your feelings especially to something there is little understanding to other than you have a high probability if dying with this virus. When ever there is little understanding to something as far as how to treat it like when Aids came out there is going to be a lot of controversy. I do feel more strongly of allowing tourists to go there or the infectious areas to travel to other non infected areas of the world and increase the chances if spreading it.

These poor orphans who have lost their families if not devastated enough are stuck in limbo right now are a example of how cruel people can be being mocked by other children who were ” once ” their friends, to people off the streets to their own extended family’s that won’t take them in even after incubation periods.
As one little boy put it, ” I wish things were like they were before.” Or I wanna go home, but they will be stuck in orphanages the rest of their lives. Institutional living isn’t good for anyone but the best Gov can offer.
As far as medical persons the ones who really care and make most the difference behind the scenes of any epidemics and what they and many medical people although not enough have no borders sickness is sickness. If there wasn’t these kind of people around God help most people as well as their children when some virus comes around and no one there to treat them. Good luck then lol

French moving troops toward Libyan border

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:17 on October 24, 2014

France is moving troops toward the Libyan border within weeks and, along with U.S. intelligence, is monitoring al-Qaida arms shipments to Africa’s Sahel region, a top French military official said Thursday.

A French base will go up within weeks in a desert outpost 100 kilometers (60 miles) from the lawless Libyan border region overrun by Islamic militants, the official said on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

U.S. intelligence is helping French troops “a lot,” he said.

Hooray for gold!-from a response to a Zero Hedge article saying no other currency will replace the $

Posted by Richard640 @ 10:11 on October 24, 2014

“We know what is happening in Europe. Does the global economic power really want a currency that is mired in incongruous and possibly debilitating political strife, inefficient diplomacy, lack of sufficient job creation, to be the backing of all materials that contribute to global production and growth?”

Sorry, lost you there for a moment, thought you were talking about the Dollar, but you are in fact talking about the Yen, yes, —no? the Euro, – no? errhh, what IS the difference?? It is all paper, it is all fraud, it is all a Keynesian wet dream, and it is all going to end. That is certain, when- that’s the question.

It is the unobtrusive continuous stealth theft from everyone.

I have had enough, I buy gold, I don’t care about Armstrong et al. I can smell a fraud when I see one, and if anything, this is it. So what, if I die before this is going to end? If nothing else, my kids will inherit the gold, and pay no taxes!

Floridagold @ 9:29 EXEC ACTION’ ON IMMIGRATION FOR ‘SHARED PROSPERITY’

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 9:49 on October 24, 2014

I know why TPTB are letting illegal immigrants into the USA. REAL ESTATE VALUES. Certain high tax states like NY have an OUT MIGRATION SITUATION.

We have empty houses all over the place. Many are getting filled by Hispanics and other hard to identify immigrants, (until they speak) from other countries.

This anti American pro Business and pro under dog trend started a very long time ago. Big Banks and big retail need bodies. Real estate and Retail in NY would have crashed decades ago without them. Note.

I myself am against illegal immigration. I would LOVE to see cheap real estate and lower retail prices on Long Island.

The people in the foreign countries are better off when excess population leaves. It frees up jobs. Less workers available have bargaining power. Empty apartments bring cheaper rents.

Opposite in USA. The excess population drives down wages, bankrupts hospitals and school districts, drives up rents, and taxes.
