I’ve just done a little quick research on Amygdalin. Turns out Amygdalin is laetrile found in apricot pits as well as many other plants and nuts. What makes the bitter taste. I don’t know if quinine is bitter for the same reason or not. Silverngold
Silverngold
Supposedly, the bitter taste is quinine. The plant is very popular in Asia and is in most of the stir fry. I would think the bugs would steer clear of anyone that consumes it.

Revelation 20 verse 19-21 from The Living Bible
“Then I saw the Evil Creature gathering the governments of the earth and their armies to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. And the Evil Creature was captured, and with him the False Prophet, who could do mighty miracles when the Evil Creature was present….miracles that deceived all who had accepted the Evil Creature’s mark, and who worshiped his statue. Both of them….the Evil Creature and his False Prophet….were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur. And their entire army was killed with the sharp sword in the mouth of the one riding the white horse, and all the birds of heaven were gorged with their flesh.”
I find the above to be very interesting and wonder a couple of things. Who writes Obama’s teleprompter responses which seem to be mandatory for him to speak, and who runs the United Nations?? I don’t recall ever hearing!! Thanks!! Silverngold
redneckokie1 @ 18:45 Bitter taste in plants
In the cancer series just presented, one segment interviewed G Edward Griffin in which he said the bitter taste in plants was called Amigdalin (sp), which is a great cancer fighter. Whether that is the bitter taste in your melons/gourds I couldn’t say but it sounds like a good probability/possibility. Silverngold

Bitter melon or gourd
Anybody have any experience with these. I have two varieties growing on my fence. The darker one, which looks like a cucumber with warts, is just too bitter to eat. I haven’t tried the lighter variety. The people I gave them to said they are far less bitter.
i don’t have cancer or diabetes yet so I give them all away.

Yes complex carbs are good non processed types and non GMO like corn which is also complex. Some is orders like MS have that problem as well as resulting inactivity and they wind up taking toxic things that are in them. People don’t get enough fluids anymore either. I don’t have a problem with stomach or cholesterol despite past few years or not so good grab what you can diet. People say if I ate what you do I gain 100 lbs but they see something not realizing there’s no other meal that goes with it or snacks and it’s burned off. I know the effects though as the energy is not long lasting so can’t say on quick fixes very long and be as busy as I get. Eventually it will catch up to you with some health problem. As long as you don’t gain. The weight your mind is tricked to think your okay but in time could set you up to sine real problems. Guess I better stock up on some vegetables and use my blender more often. It’s the only thing that will let me sleep the crash cuz otherwise I seem to have endless energy so have a excuse otherwise I won’t sleep much.
Look into that Chia packed with nutrients have it for long term storage but think I might throw some into the blender and try it.

Good advice, and it should apply to everything we have to deal with in this life. There are too many one sided agenda’s to distract and dissuade from the truth. Silverngold
Wanka–Goldi=Idiot med establishment says avoid carbs for diabetes-but they do not distinguish complex from simple-why? Cause they are idiots.
Complex carbs are the cure for diabetes and everything else-and the gold standard for brain health-[so no Alzheimers. according to Gary Null]
GOLDI=barley [and all whole grains] for gut health-not pearled barley buy whole-hulled barley–sometimes called unhealed for some reason but they are the same
Barley’s Fiber for Regularity, Lower Cholesterol, & Intestinal Protection
Wish you were more regular? Let barley give your intestinal health a boost. In addition to providing bulk and decreasing the transit time of fecal matter, thus decreasing the risk of colon cancer and hemorrhoids, barley’s dietary fiber also provides food for the “friendly” bacteria in the large intestine. When these helpful bacteria ferment barley’s insoluble fiber, they produce a short-chain fatty acid called butyric acid, which serves as the primary fuel for the cells of the large intestine and helps maintain a healthy colon. These helpful bacteria also create two other short-chain fatty acids, propionic and acetic acid, which are used as fuel by the cells of the liver and muscles.
The propionic acid produced from barley’s insoluble fiber may also be partly responsible for the cholesterol-lowering properties of fiber. In animal studies, propionic acid has been shown to inhibit HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in the production of cholesterol by the liver. By lowering the activity of this enzyme, propionic acid helps lower blood cholesterol levels.
In addition, barley’s dietary fiber is high in beta glucan, which helps to lower cholesterol by binding to bile acids and removing them from the body via the feces. Bile acids are compounds used to digest fat that are manufactured by the liver from cholesterol. When they are excreted along with barley’s fiber, the liver must manufacture new bile acids and uses up more cholesterol, thus lowering the amount of cholesterol in circulation. Soluble fiber may also reduce the amount of cholesterol manufactured by the liver.
A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests barley’s fiber has multiple beneficial effects on cholesterol. In this study of 25 individuals with high cholesterol (postmenopausal women, premenopausal women, and men), adding barley to the American Heart Association Step 1 diet resulted in a significant lowering in total cholesterol in all subjects, plus their amount of large LDL and large and intermediate HDL fractions (which are considered less atherogenic) increased, and the smaller LDL and VLDL cholesterol (the most dangerous fractions) greatly decreased.
Lastly, when barley provides insoluble fibers that feed friendly bacteria in the digestive tract, this helps to maintain larger populations of friendly bacteria. In addition to producing the helpful short-chain fatty acids described above, friendly bacteria play an important protective role by crowding out pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria and preventing them from surviving in the intestinal tract.
Barley’s fiber can prevent or help with a number of different conditions. For example, when barley’s fiber binds to and removes cholesterol-containing bile, this can be very beneficial for people struggling with heart disease since it forces the body to make more bile by breaking down cholesterol, thus lowering cholesterol levels.
pgr2.45 @ 6:03 – MMS
MMS has been the object of a near hysterical suppression campaign by the medical and pharmaceutical authorities by any and all means possible… including this ‘official’ looking article of inuendo and half-truths. Google and wikipedia will only give you the ‘officially sanctioned story’ and the slant they want you to know.
You would do well to get the other side of the story also. Get Jim Humble’s book on MMS that explains what happens with it. Once you have BOTH sides of the story, then you can make an intelligent decision, rather than a one-sided one.
I have used it for years… and I am undamaged. And it has helped me overcome some significant health problems to the point that I have been able to cease the use of some very expensive pharmaceuticals. And THAT is the bottom line that big pharma does not want you to know.
