Was watching part of the movie ” The Longest Day.” A sailor won 2500 gambling on a ship  and I wondered how much that would be these days so looked it up on a inflation calculator. Rounded 33,784  wow then gold in 1944 was 35 dollars that would buy about 71 and buying 71 today would cost about 85k which would be worth more than 2 1/2 times dollar amount.

addendum buying silver even trade  then would only be around what 38k present off top of head but one thing it shows it would of held it’s value through the years compared to paper  if you could split it up in gifts so the tax man doesn’t steal the value.

One thing is a KFS ” know for sure” energy never stays down forever. See what happens once it hits 50 which way it goes. 35-40 if drops just might be a good entry point but then I may already be talking in hind site myself if it doesn’t. Ps when it does recover keep a eye on emerging markets heavy on energy type commodities like Mexico and Brazil and who knows. Guessing China enjoying the drop. Emerging markets tend to recover at a faster pace so you can position trade them move to the slower recoverys next if you want. Also alternative energy will move on oil recovery but have to be careful with those.
