“Things too horrible to mention” happened on both sides of the war. Millions of German civilians were bombed needlessly in Dresden, and thousands more raped and murdered by the Russian and Mongol troops. Millions of German POWs were reclassified by Eisenhower to “disarmed enemy combatants” so that he could continue to starve them in brutal conditions long after the war was concluded. To think that the Allies were noble and upright is delusion.
