“Some of the most heinous parts of the TPP are provisions to set up rigged trade tribunals. In these tribunals, corporations can sue governments for the loss of “expected future profits.”

This means that if a country passes an environmental or a health law that will cost the corporation money, the corporation can sue for the expected profits it stands to lose. The suit will come before a trade tribunal where a three-judge panel, made up mostly of corporate lawyers on temporary leave from their corporate jobs, will decide the case.”

Comment:
I like that. An emotional, impractical environmental extremists elected official, (like Ted Kaczynski) will get his taxpayers sued. Note: These days if your gas cap is loose, your check engine light goes on, and your car won’t pass inspection. $79.99 for diagnostic charge and turn the light off. Then the mechanic tells you, you need to drive 100 or more miles, to reset the codes.

I suspect the TPP agreement if it goes thru is designed to help restore the US economy, and make foreign countries import more from the USA. The exact opposite of NAFTA GATT etc. We paid, now its pay back time.
