Loading ...time to plant potatoes – between now and valentine’s day (timing varies with your local climate). if you haven’t had fresh, small red new potatoes from your own garden, you don’t know what good potatoes are. potatoes have to “cure” so that they will last in storage. this is good if you want to store them. if you want to have them fresh, it’s another question. red potatoes with a thin skin, up to about the size of a golf ball, brought into the kitchen and cooked a few minutes after they’ve been dug from the soil… that’s in a whole ‘nother category from the stuff in the grocers’ bins.
