plague of cholera, which took off tens and hundreds of thousands of Europeans in sudden, unexplained outbreaks in its populous cities. A city-dweller might leave his neighborhood for a weekend in the country, and return to find that 10% of his neighbors were being carted off in boxes to the graveyard.

“in London in the 1850′s there were stinking places aplenty. There was no central sewage; human excrement was deposited in the cesspools under the cellars of buildings; the cesspools frequently overflowed into the cellars and courtyards in poorer neighborhoods.

“Cesspools were periodically emptied by “night-soil men”, and the contents was carted off to the fields, but it was a costly operation. What sewers there were, discharged into the Thames as a grand sewer, which produced such an unbearable stench that, one memorable Summer, Parliament was forced to adjourn.

Eventually, a huge program for city sewage was implemented, a true wonder of engineering, and London’s sewage was diverted to the lower Thames, where the tides took it out to sea.”

Comment:
There ya go. Humanity has survived and prospered in the worst of environmental times. Things are a lot better now, and its time for you to STOP, RETIRE. Enough is enough. Too much of anything is NOT good.

Get a new hobby or new life. You are promoting the destruction of tax PAYING jobs and replacing them with tax ABSORBING jobs. Wake up and stop being unwittingly used by the globalist agenda.

The latest environmental laws since 1971 were to create new alternative service and enforcement occupations to over ride the global sharing or off shoring of USA manufacturing jobs.

The Chinese, India people, third world people, developing nations, emerging market citizens LOVE the factories, farms, mines, wells, pipelines and smoke stacks etc etc.
Higher living standards are worth it.

The propaganda press has succeeded in making Americans HATE and despise factories, farms, mines, wells, pipelines and smoke stacks etc etc.

You people also need to STOP telling car makers every year how YOU (really they) want the cars built. Leave bad enough alone. You are keeping them in a constant research and development stage.

Making us guinea pigs, too many recalls, never perfected, like the cars peak technology in reliance user friendly, and simplicity of the 1970 models.

Forget about 100 miles per gallon, and pure oxygen coming out of the tail pipe.

The propaganda press has succeeded in making Americans HATE and despise factories, farms, mines, wells, pipelines and smoke stacks etc etc.

Just can’t pull the trigger

Freeport McMoRan to spend $17bn in Indonesia

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:51 on January 23, 2015

Eko Listiyorini & Yoga Rusmana (Bloomberg) | 23 January 2015 10:13 | 66 views

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. said it plans to invest about $17 billion to build a copper smelter and develop its gold and copper mines in Indonesia.

Unit PT Freeport Indonesia will build the smelter in East Java at a cost of more than $2 billion, President Director Maroef Sjamsuddin, told reporters in Jakarta today. It will spend another $15 billion on long-term development of underground copper and gold deposits at its Grasberg mine complex in Papua, he said.

The Southeast Asian country banned exports of raw minerals and imposed export duties for some processed metals including copper concentrate from January 2014 to encourage investors to build value-added processing plants in the country. Freeport has been in talks with the Indonesian government on its Contract of Work amendment, in which building a new smelter is one of the key points of the discussion.

“We’re complying with the government rule and the Mining Law,” said Sjamsuddin, who was appointed as new president on Jan. 7. The smelter will process 2 million tons of copper concentrate a year, he said.

Freeport will sign a memorandum of understanding with state-owned petrochemical company PT Petrokimia Gresik today on acquisition of land for the smelter, Sjamsuddin said.

Freeport Indonesia runs Grasberg copper and gold mine on Papua province. It has a 25 percent stake at PT Smelting, the country’s only copper smelter, in Gresik, East Java.

Scruffy what that chart tells me is that someone made a typo and really the dollar might be toppy at 97, not at 87 like the text of the chart says. The devil is in the details as usual. I suppose it’s overbought.
