I was the landfill contractor for a three city area. About twice per week the bread trucks would come in and dump their day old bread….dozens to hundreds of loaves, so I would call the local soup kitchens etc and they would come gather the bread for the needy and hungry. When the bread company found out they began having their drivers cut open all the loaves so they would be contaminated, rather than have someone get something for nothing…..a criminal waste IMO.
