I also heard that older cars would survive a EMP by disconnecting the battery reconnecting the battery but the electronics of new cars would not.

Yeah, I missed the train this morning.  It’s Monday.  I’m pretty sure this vintage locomotive is immune to EMP.  The Rock Island “Rocky Mountain Rocket” leaving Denver.

eeos @ 14:35 EMP Safe

Posted by Maya @ 21:45 on February 9, 2015

Some things CAN be protected from EMP.  Back in the 70’s I worked on getting an AM Radio station transmitter site “Protected” per Civil Defense spec.  Basically a lot of lightning arrestors and spark gaps.  It’s like planning for a direct lightning strike.

The powerlines grid is the most vulnerable.  Those long wires make great antennas to pick up lots of destructive voltage!  USA would be broken up into small regional power centers still operating.

Solid state electronics would be mostly toast.  All modern cars.  Surprisingly, old 1950’s vintage tube radios would not be harmed.  I am also a licensed Amateur (Ham) radio operator.  Yes, I keep a spare transceiver, disconnected, and stored in a clean metal trash can along with a few other critical electronics.  There are other Ham operators doing the same thing all around the country.  We specialize in self-sufficient radio operations, and we would have shortwave communications networks set up in very short order.

From my experience, some of the big AM radio transmitters across the country could survive and return to the airwaves if they have power.

EMP would be a master “Reset” switch back to 1950 technology.

Did a quick search earlier it didn’t say pilot error though have to check what you said. Also said a family man wife toddler changed seats during take off. The man said that he was on the left side and the engine sounded funny so moved his family to right side probably saving their lives. He said he first pulled his wife out from under the water and saw his son floating with a pale face and lips turning blue grabbed him and did mouth to mouth. They survived. I’m guessing the pilot hitting the water saved the plane from a fiery crash. Wonder why the stewardess didn’t bring the strange sounding engine to the attention of the pilots before taking off.

That Taiwan Air Crash

Posted by Maya @ 21:14 on February 9, 2015

Pilot Error.  He had one engine fail on takeoff.  In going thru emergency procedures for that engine, they performed a shutdown on the WRONG (still operating) Engine!   That left them with no power.  They were attempting a restart as they crashed.    It’s a not-uncommon error on a twin-engine plane having an emergency that a flustered pilot shuts down the wrong engine.

EMPs in shielded boxes yep, some might though, and someone reminded me that sattelite towers will be taken out anyways which will wipe out most communication. Those with boom boxes or couch potatoes won’t know what to do with themselves.

Silverngold, bolders in our path everyday just come in different forms if you know what I mean.

Healing Cancer with Diet

This TV newscast was originally produced by Channel 8 in Cleveland Ohio. Janet was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. After 6 months of following the macrobiotic regimen, her condition had improved markedly. After less than 2 years she was disease-free. A remarkable recovery testifying to the healing power of the macrobiotic cancer-prevention diet. For more information, visit wwwClevelandMacrobiotics.com

today’s Ben Fullford message and he thinks it was another false flag.

monopoly

maddog these batteries that I linked have circuitry in place to stop complete discharge. Show me anyone else in the world that has taken on so many industries and people told him no you can’t, won’t happen etc and he bulldozed them. and um sorry this is not just a paypal anomaly. Without Paypal ebay had nothing. It’s space X, rocket motors, power storage, batteries, battery production, cars, reinventing the modern day assembly line in factories, transportation, high-speed transportation…..and solar city to boot. There are more solar installs that have been completed in the last year out west than you can shake a stick at. Notice my state doesn’t have any damn nuke plants, plenty of power coming from the sun and people know it

Lithium Ion batteries are a nightmare to manage…..you can’t run ’em flat or full as that sets off chemical degradation and as for PV farms…..what about weeds ???????

well nothing is EMP safe

Posted by eeos @ 14:35 on February 9, 2015

and you’ll hear this and that about someone building an EMP shielded box and placing electronics in it, with the assumption that other people might have their broadcasting equipment in these boxes too. giggle

Ps hope they are EMP safe.

Silverngold, when that happens wonder what excuse they will give for chemyails then?

Eeos

Posted by goldielocks @ 14:15 on February 9, 2015

Well I hope they have battery back ups then and check them before every flight. ” Really check them.” People on respirators have died because in power failures battery backups failed in power outages.

IN short the answer is YES

Posted by eeos @ 14:07 on February 9, 2015

Lithium ion batteries and PV panels are a game changer. A lith-batt the size of a normal car battery can hold ten lead-acid batteries of storage capacity with a 98% efficiency factor. They weigh a fraction of lead-acid batts too. These batteries right now run about $4,000, the gigafactory is going to slash these costs. Good by coal, good by natural gas. Watch it happen. Want off the grid? IT’s easy to do now. And amazingly Lith-ion batts have life cycles that are mind bending. You can discharge a Lith batt 50% depth of discharge everyday for almost 16 years.

eeos @ 13:36 All battery powered vs combustion engines?

Posted by silverngold @ 13:57 on February 9, 2015

So is this what the plummeting fuel/oil prices are all about?? Are we in the stage of the “dump” in the “pump and dump” of the oil industry, creating a bunch of bag holders who will never recover their investment into that sector??? Are the insiders all getting out of a dieing industry?? It’s a thought anyway!! Anybody know??
