Lithium ion batteries and PV panels are a game changer. A lith-batt the size of a normal car battery can hold ten lead-acid batteries of storage capacity with a 98% efficiency factor. They weigh a fraction of lead-acid batts too. These batteries right now run about $4,000, the gigafactory is going to slash these costs. Good by coal, good by natural gas. Watch it happen. Want off the grid? IT’s easy to do now. And amazingly Lith-ion batts have life cycles that are mind bending. You can discharge a Lith batt 50% depth of discharge everyday for almost 16 years.
