The New York legislature is considering a set of bills, A791, S 509 and A 1822, that would mandate the meningitis vaccine for 6thand 11th grade students and the HPV vaccine for 6th grade students, respectively.

Parents have a right to make their own decisions about treatments for their children based on informed consent. Limiting a patient’s ability to make informed decisions about what gets put into their body violates medical ethics.

Instead, please support A943 and A0224. These bills provide for 1) exemption to mandatory vaccination on the grounds of a sincerely held philosophical objection to the immunization and 2) prohibit mandatory flu vaccination as a condition of employment.

That’s very good of you to volunteer as steward of that small future woodlot, and smart that you have planted several species of trees to increase the likelihood that at least some of the species will survive if attacked. Are you using that soil in the wheel barrow to cover your corduroy or are you using the corduroy to get the wheel barrow across for another project??  In any event that corduroy looks plenty tough to handle anything your wheel barrow will handle. That Western Red Cedar appears to be sitting in, or rooting in, a pickle jar of water. Is that site where you will plant it?? The protective mesh surrounding it makes me think you have a rabbit or deer problem but maybe it is just to keep the seedling from tipping over.

That bright red shovel looks hard to “handle” but you’ll never misplace it. LOL!!! I’m wondering if you have seeded what appears to be some of the rye grasses for erosion control or if it is strictly volunteer?

I laid down another barrow of corduroy stem segments to get through a wet patch in the conifer plantings of a 6-acre municipal forest where I am volunteer site steward. The sapling in the background, behind the spade, is a western redcedar. I have also planted Sitka spruce in these groundwater discharge areas, with the upland sites left for Douglas-fir, coastal variety of lodgepole pine, and grand fir (balsam). As you said, it’s good to plant a mix of species, with each chosen for the site it likes best, instead of plunking down the same kind of seedlings over the whole target planting area.

This picture will strike you as pretty wimpy corduroy foundation, compared to what you would lay down for your four-wheeler or logging truck, but the principle is the same – find a cheap way to float over the seepage areas and perennial wet patches.

The Saudis got away with the longest weapon’s deals, the Qataris and Emiratis  -who tried hard to take International Civil Aviation Organization’s headquarter from Montreal to Doha – were rewarded with direct flights to Canada. This is despite the war they waged against the Canadian telecommunication and wireless equipment company known as Blackberry that made many Canadians lose their jobs.

As the conservatives cannot trace back their communications equipment, it is fair to say that Canadian equipment ended in the hands of ISIS. It is so sad to see the beheading of Christians, Shia Muslims, Yazidis and the burning of the human being alive being broadcasted using Canadian technology. ISIS is known of broadcasting quality horror videos, and only the conservatives of Canada are known to have provided the equipment.

The conservatives have lied to Canadians about everything related to the Syrian conflict. They engaged in supporting regimes that Mr. Biden said have just recently stopped financing international terrorism. Canada under the rule of the conservatives is becoming less and less recognizable.
