Charleston church shooting: Police hunt suspected killer
US police are hunting for a man they suspect of shooting dead nine people at a historic African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina.
Officials released CCTV images of a man they said was white, in his early 20s, and sat in on a bible study meeting for an hour before opening fire.
Six women and three men were killed, including the church pastor and local state senator Clementa Pinckney.
Federal authorities are to investigate the killings as a hate crime.
The Justice Department said its investigation would be “parallel to and co-operative with the state’s investigation”.

Nice little bounce to $1200, at least for now the bottom of the range has held yet again.
As usual the shares are stinking up the place…
Sure doesn’t seem to be saying we’re going anywhere anytime soon.
Russia won’t comment on aid to Greece ahead of Tsipras visit
ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (AP) — A top Russian official won’t say whether his country is going to lend money to Greece, ahead of a meeting between the Greek and Russian leaders on Friday.
Greece is at an impasse in talks with its creditors to get more loans. Without the aid, it could default on a debt repayment of 1.6 billion euros ($1.8 billion) on June 30.
While his government is locked in those talks, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is traveling to Russia, his second visit since April, to meet President Vladimir Putin. Tsipras’ visit has given rise to speculation that the Greeks could be seeking Russian loans.
Gold Train
We have mountains to climb! Amtrak’s “Desert Wind” climbs out of the L.A. basin to the high desert ahead. In seven hours we arrive in Las Vegas.

I’m relieved too … although it doesn’t say much for Armstrong’s fact checking.

Imus in the Morning
…on WNBC in New York City in ’72 was about as outrageous as one could get away with on big-city radio. Every female caller was treated to the question:
“ARE YA NAKED??” Many coyly replied “Yes, I am!” and you could hear the grin in their voice. Imus had lots of character schtick also, like:
“The Right Reverend Doctor Billy Sol Hargus, and the Church of the Gooey Death and Discount House of Worship. Get your copy of our “Trick Bible” now! Every page is blank!”
I used to listen to Imus when I was in the Army down the shore in NJ. I taped a lot of his shows to send back to my radio announcer friend in the midwest. He wanted ideas for his own show. Sadly, the stuff was just too outrageous to use in the conservative farm-towns of the midwest.
