have cast doubt on the idea that ice-covered areas of the Arctic Ocean region are lessening. The Russians still seem to believe that shrinking ice in the region is going to ease resource exploration and commercial marine traffic in the Arctic region. I may not live long enough to see it, but I throw my bets in with the countries that believe resource development in the Arctic Ocean region will accelerate as sea ice continues to become less prevalent in that region.
