SB277 update

Posted by goldielocks @ 0:21 on October 2, 2015

The SB277 Referendum has ended and signatures are still being tallied in California as the state’s citizens work feverishly to oppose California Senate Bill 277. A bill that was signed by California Jerry Brown in response to a health crisis that didn’t exist. The bill removes vaccination exemption from school children while at the same time holding an unvaccinated child’s educational future hostage. Under the bill, unvaccinated children will be kicking out of every public educational setting including public school, private school, charter school, some homeschooling and daycare.

Tim Donnelly, leader of the grassroots SB277 movement, was interviewed by Lee Ann McAdoo of InfoWars.com Thursday to discuss the aftermath of the signature-gather pushback by concerned California citizens. Donnelly, called SB277 an “egregious assaults on, not just parents rights, but natural rights, human rights…the right to decide what you inject in your body or your child’s body. ”

Commenting on the current state of the SB277 signature gathering campaign, Donnelly stated:

“The signature gathering is over. The signatures have been turned in to the registrar of voters in all of the 58 counties in California and we are waiting for their final tally on them.”

Donnelly’s official comments run counter to reports from the L.A. Times who ran the headline “Not enough signatures: Vaccine opponents fall short in ballot effort.” In addition to the mainstream media’s completely biased coverage, the SB277 Referendum effort experienced tremendous opposition along the way and sabotage from within the campaign. Commenting on those challenges, Donnelly said, “I’ve never really seen it this strong. I think it has to do with the amount of money that’s involved. You’re talking hundreds of billions of dollars when it comes to the pharmaceutical industry in the United States.”

When asked what will happen if the referendum doesn’t get enough signatures, Donnelly commented:

“The fight doesn’t end. The next step would naturally be lawsuits.”

As SB277 comes to a close, the atmosphere around medical choice and school children’s vaccine exemptions is heating up rapidly. Grabbing major attention recently is the Orange County Department of Education Legal Division who is advising their educational staff and superintendents to “seek court orders” or call Child Protective Services as potential options for unvaccinated children once SB277 becomes law July 1st, 2016.

Meanwhile, the compromised regulatory agency that is The Center’s for Disease Control and Prevention has funded the American College of Physicians (ACP) to the tune of over $1 million to increase adult flu vaccination rates. Teaming with drug house Pfizer and working towards an adult immunization registry, the ACP stated the following in its press release:

“ACP supports eliminating existing exemptions, except for medical reasons, from immunization laws.”

As Tim Donnelly stated, the fight doesn’t end. It is vital at this point to continue educating local communities and neighbors about the current push to remove medical choice in not only children, but adults as well. It is essential that all California parents that believe in medical freedom file a personal belief vaccine exemption before the January 1st deadline. This is the only method known at this stage to grandfather a waiver into your child’s 2016 school year. However, SB277 isn’t set to become law until July of 2016. It is important for parents to know they do not have to sign this affidavit if they are not comfortable with the language. Parents can also write their own affidavit if they choose. California Code 120365 states:

(a) Immunization of a person shall not be required for admission to a school or other institution listed in Section120335 if the parent or guardian or adult who has assumed responsibility for his or her care and custody in the case of a minor, or the person seeking admission if an emancipated minor, files with the governing authority a letter or affidavit that documents which immunizations required by Section 120355 have been given, and which immunizations have not been given on the basis that they are contrary to his or her beliefs. (b) On and after January 1, 2014, a form prescribed by the State Department of Public Health shall accompany the letter or affidavit filed pursuant to subdivision.
