While the U.S.lobbyists against Trans-Canada’s pipeline from Hardisty, Alberta to the Cushing distribution hub have held up approval of the Keystone pipeline (and perhaps killed the proposed project permanently) because it “would not be good for the environment” or because of “concerns about climate change”, the U.S. in that delay period have added new pipelines of their own totalling over 11,000 miles. Seems like poor neighbors to me, but maybe it is just as well to slow down movement of Canadian energy southwards until Canada can start receiving gold in payment for its exported energy. I have some of the wildest dreams about selling energy for gold.
