The modern version is that the very young boy manages to stack up enough to reach the top shelf where cookies and sweets are kept. Then it tumbles down and he is left to cry out for help and hold on for dear life. His father comes to the rescue and holds both arms around the boy. Let go now, the father says and I will catch you.
