as for corbet I too fine him quite accurate and very detailed for accuracy in his research. but a mistake can always be made since no one is perfect…..like Obama. obirak wj

Posted by Auandag @ 14:50 on November 17, 2015

The question is not whether Obama is delusional or not – that is undeniable. The question is, in what frame of reference is he delusional – the narrow one Krauthammer cites, regarding Obama’s denial that radical Islam poses an existential threat to America and the world? Or the wider context of the rest of life? For when we widen our scope, we are forced to acknowledge that Obama gravitates toward evil and delusion not just with regard to the jihad threat, but in virtually every area: He wants to force 15-year-old girls to shower naked with boys who delusionally believe they’re girls. He intentionally allows our nation to be overrun with illegal aliens and legal “refugees” from cultures that hate America (today’s headline says of the Syrian refugees already in the U.S., 2,098 are Muslims and 53 are Christians). He annually releases tens of thousands of convicted criminal illegal aliens – we’re talking murderers, rapists and drug-dealers – back onto American streets. He’s a radical proponent of what can only be called infanticide, the “aborting” of fully formed, full-term healthy human babies.

In every area, Obama demonstrates an unfortunate affinity for that which normal people would describe as destructive, corrupt, evil.

Police Civil Asset Forfeitures Exceed The Value Of All Burglaries In 2014

Tyler Durden’s pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 11/17/2015 13:30 -0500

Submitted by Martin Armstrong via ArmstrongEconomics.com,

Between 1989 and 2010, U.S. attorneys seized an estimated $12.6 billion in asset forfeiture cases. The growth rate during that time averaged +19.4% annually.

In 2010 alone, the value of assets seized grew by +52.8% from 2009 and was six times greater than the total for 1989.

Then by 2014, that number had ballooned to roughly $4.5 billion for the year, making this 35% of the entire number of assets collected from 1989 to 2010 in a single year.

Now, according to the FBI, the total amount of goods stolen by criminals in 2014 burglary offenses suffered an estimated $3.9 billion in property losses. This means that the police are now taking more assets than the criminals.

The police have been violating the laws to confiscate assets all over the country. A scathing report on California warns of pervasive abuse by police to rob the people without proving that any crime occurred. Even Eric Holder came out in January suggesting reform because of the widespread abuse of the civil asset forfeiture laws by police.

Bloomberg News has reported now that Stop-and-Seize authority is turning the Police Into Self-Funding Gangs. They are simply confiscating money all under the abuse of this civil asset forfeiture where they do not have to prove you did anything.

…in the U.S., I see some troubling signs of a shift toward low-end institutions. Bounty hunting was a recent example (now happily going out of style). Another example is the use of private individuals or businesses to collect taxes, a practice known as tax farming. A third has been the extensive use of mercenaries in lieu of U.S. military personnel in Iraq and elsewhere. Practices such as these can save money for the government, but they encourage abuses by reducing oversight.

I’ve recently been reading about an even more worrying example of low-end statecraft: Stop-and-seize. This term refers to a practice, increasingly common since the turn of the century, of police confiscating people’s property without making an arrest or obtaining a warrant. That may not sound legal, but it is! The police simply pull you over and take your money.

A Washington Post investigative report from a year ago explains:

“[A]n aggressive brand of policing [is spreading] that has spurred the seizure of hundreds of millions of dollars in cash from motorists and others not charged with crimes…Thousands of people have been forced to fight legal battles that can last more than a year to get their money back.

Behind the rise in seizures is a little-known cottage industry of private police-training firms…

A thriving subculture of road officers…now competes to see who can seize the most cash and contraband, describing their exploits in the network’s chat rooms and sharing “trophy shots” of money and drugs. Some police advocate highway interdiction as a way of raising revenue for cash-strapped municipalities.

“All of our home towns are sitting on a tax-liberating gold mine,” Deputy Ron Hain of Kane County, Ill., wrote in a self-published book under a pseudonym…Hain’s book calls for “turning our police forces into present-day Robin Hoods.”

With government unable to pay police as much as they need or would like, police are confiscating their revenue directly from the populace.

The threat to individual liberty from stop-and-seize is painfully clear. Without requirements for an arrest or for a warrant, the power to confiscate cash is a clear diminution of property rights. Effectively, the police have been given official sanction to commit literal highway robbery without the threat of punishment. People whose property was seized must pay a lot of money and spend a long time in court for even the chance of getting it back, and police who seize money with no good reason don’t, apparently, suffer any threat of discipline.

But stop-and-seize also presents a danger to public trust.

Prosecutors are now instructing police on how to confiscate money within the grey area of the law.

A class action lawsuit was filed against Washington DC where police were robbing people for as little as having $100 in their pocket.

This is getting really out of hand and it has indeed converted police into legal criminals or “gangs” as Bloomberg News calls them.

I voted in the new poll

Posted by eeos @ 12:26 on November 17, 2015

You cant vote unless you sign in.

I voted from my Google Chrome browser version 46.XXX. I went into Internet Explorer 11 and I couldn’t vote again from here again either.

I deleted my cookies via Chrome and I signed into the tent again and it won’t let me vote again.

My cell phone does allow me to cast another vote (only once though) when I sign in, but it has a different ISP identity.

It’s probably plug in dependent. Some voting plug in’s allow for more analytics to be derived than others

Vote Vote!

Perhaps a poster could try voting twice after you have dumped your cookies, maybe tomorrow …

OK dude … As far as I know it has to do with the cookies on your puter. If you dump your cookies you can vote again. This is how it was at the old Goldtent. So it is feasible.

AFAIK There is no way to tell who voted for whom.

A while back I was reading an article in which the question was being asked: “How come the US is not bombing the ISIS oil operations?” Supposedly it wasn’t being done on account of a portion of the fuel was being used to power and heat the surrounding cities and towns. So … if the fuel was cut off there would be a lot of civilian hardship.

… or … maybe if we were still supporting ISIS we want to allow them to keep making money from the oil sales?

I don’t think the second option is true anymore. I hope not anyways. Who knows

everyone should know

that the goldtent knows your computer’s isp and this is how fair voting is insured and there aren’t double votes. Ipso could even go in and look who has voted for what. laugh

A Bottom in Gold

Posted by Samb @ 11:20 on November 17, 2015

Well, Gold is in an Intermediate Cycle decline.  OK, have these declines ended in as little as 4 weeks? NOPE.  We should see at least a small relief rally before the final low. In looking at SLW, I believe that we are only now nearing the midpoint for this cycle bottom. And the cycle could stretch into deeply oversold for many more weeks from that point on. Way early on this one yet.

Canadian gold miner Kirkland Lake to buy St Andrew Goldfields

Posted by ipso facto @ 11:13 on November 17, 2015

Nov 16 (Reuters) – Kirkland Lake Gold Inc has agreed to purchase fellow Canadian gold miner St Andrew Goldfields Ltd to create a multi-asset, Ontario-focused mid-sized gold producer, the two companies said on Monday.

Under the all-share deal, St Andrew shareholders will receive 0.09 of a Kirkland share for each share of St Andrew stock they own – a ratio the companies said was a 25 percent premium to St Andrew’s closing share price on Monday.

The ratio implies a total equity value of around C$178 million ($133.54 million). ($1 = 1.3329 Canadian dollars) (Reporting by Nicole Mordant in Vancouver)

Ororeef @ 18:21 re Monopolies .. …that includes minimum wage

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 10:44 on November 17, 2015

I think the original purpose of the minimum base wage was to maintain tax PAYERS and “harvestable” masses. Good for business and gov’t.

Over time the labor dept under reported the inflation rate, and allowed the minimum wage to erode, and now they have problems in the retail sector. And tax receipts sector. Many employees are not paid enough to even pay taxes, plus they get food stamps, and Medicaid.

The low wage business owner is actually being subsidized by the tax paying sector. A higher minimum wage if mandated would actually be in reality, a net tax increase for businesses. A REVERSAL or end of a 50 year tax subsidy.

I would like to say a couple of things about this.

Eeos don’t you think that the posters here may be curious to see an honest result? You’re disrespecting every poster here.

Eeos do you think it’s OK to shit upon other people’s work?

Do you think there will be more polls if they are abused? Why should I waste my time?

Processes that work on the honor system break down if people are dishonest.

Go Druck! Although I’m not sure you want to lever up with options against the Crimex…..

Posted by Buygold @ 9:24 on November 17, 2015

One thing to note: Druckenmiller kept, and even levered up his investment in gold, converting his equity exposure in GLD into call options of the same underlying.

Some of the most closely watched money managers are retreating from U.S. stocks after the market has more than tripled from its 2008 low. Druckenmiller, who produced average annual returns of 30 percent from 1986 through 2010 at his Duquesne Capital Management, told an investor conference earlier this month that his outlook on equities could turn negative. Tepper, Appaloosa’s billionaire founder, said in September that he’s not as optimistic on the stock market as he could be because expectations for corporate earnings were high.

Druckenmiller’s Duquesne Family Office sold out of 18 equity positions in the third quarter, led by a $324 million stake in an exchange-traded fund that tracks gold prices, and reported seven new positions. Moore divested 187 investments, such as Chinese search engine Baidu Inc., while adding 81 new stakes. Appaloosa got out of seven stocks, including Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., and reported five new holdings.

“I’m not as bullish as I could be because I have problems with earnings growth, problems with multiples,”
