Pope Francis: “The Last Pope’s Christmas”

 Queenand Pope

Firstly, notice what Pope Francis of the Vatican said as 2015 ended.

On December 25, 2015, Pope Francis told crowds in St Peter’s Square “This may be our last Christmas.”
The current chaotic state of the world marks the beginning of the end times, and this time next year the world is likely to be unrecognizable.

Queen Elizabeth allegedly went off script on December 24, during her taped message she told the BBC production staff, and said bitterly. “I hope you enjoy your final Christmas.”…That is the claim making the rounds on social media due to a bizarre set of comments she allegedly made during the filming of her annual Christmas message for the BBC last year. She may be ill, is resigning her position, or his concerned about terrorism. Under strict orders from palace advisors, the take was cancelled and junior staff was sent on an early lunch. Later in the day, the Christmas message was re-done.

Someone tell me the last time a Pope was interested in speaking with the heads of Apple and Google. Why? What do they have to do with religion?

U.S. says prepared for military solution against Islamic State in Syria

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said on Saturday that the United States and Turkey were prepared for a military solution against Islamic State in Syria should the Syrian government and rebels fail to reach a political settlement.

The latest round of Syria peace talks are planned to begin on Monday in Geneva but were at risk of being delayed partly because of a dispute over who will comprise the opposition delegation.

Syrian armed rebel groups said on Saturday they held the Syrian government and Russia responsible for any failure of peace talks to end the country’s civil war, even before negotiations were due to start.

Ororeef @ 5:17 Most unusual snow

Posted by silverngold @ 10:19 on January 23, 2016

Very similar observations here in BC. We’ve had about a ft of accumulation here that did not act like snow should act; not slippery at all. Then the weather turned mild and the snow began to disappear but no runoff as would be expected; just evaporation until it was gone. Normally when the weather turns mild the snow on the roofs of barn and house begin to drip and then slide off, leaving a huge pile on the ground, but this snow did not slide off. It just evaporated until it was gone. I had to plow my driveway, about 800 ft, which left high berms on the sides. Normally when the weather warms up those berms melt and there is lots of runoff, but this time there is no runoff and they are just evaporating, and that is with about 45 degree weather here. Very strange but it tells me this snow is “made”, and I don’t mean by Mother Nature.

It’s Been Awhile, But The Memories Are Still There

Posted by Farmboy @ 10:03 on January 23, 2016

Born and raised in northern Illinois up until the age of 12 when my family followed the Milwaukee Braves to their new home in Atlanta, Ga. I was blessed to have a grandmother who knew how to make snowcream. I remember going outside in the fresh fallen snow, usually measured in feet, not inches,  and filling a bowl with the frozen white flakes. Running back into the house in great anticipation of grandma working her magic of transforming it into a winter delight. I cannot remember the exact recipe she used. I think she added a little milk, perhaps a dusting of sugar, but I still remember the awfully long wait as she used a can opener to punch a hole in the top of a can of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. How painfully slow it seemed as the can grudgingly gave up the dark syrup. Finally, she would hand the bowl back decorated with its chocolate covered drizzle. Grandmas and snow cream, two of God’s gifts I have no doubt.

A Closer Look At ‘Snow Gauge’

Ororeef & Samb, I’m Just A Little Jealous !

Posted by Farmboy @ 9:16 on January 23, 2016

My Official Winter Snow Gauge was left outside on the back porch. As you can see, all we got here is a dusting, not even enough to cover the tires on the John Deere Coffee Cup.  Barely enough to make a single snow ball. Maybe you could make a snowman and ship him to me?  Well, you fellas stay safe out there today and enjoy.

Snow & high winds…NJ coastal

Posted by Samb @ 8:37 on January 23, 2016

Coming down heavy with some gale force winds. Lots of drifting. Some roofs are being swept clean by the wind. One car is outside on the driveway and one side is completely clean while the other side has a 2 foot drift.

Most Unusual Snow

Posted by Ororeef @ 5:17 on January 23, 2016

Ive seen in 78 years….Im used to driving in snow since I lived in NJ as a teen .I used to go out to the Local Park during a snow and practice driving on Ice & snow ,so Im pretty good at it ….Taught myself how to correct slides etc….So I know from experience ..not something I read….

I went out last night with about 5 inches on the ground to the Post Office and what I found was ..I had amazing traction.. in all my experience I never seen anything like it.  No snow tires or anything special going on…It was the Snow  and this morning I see after what was about 10 inches had fallen ,it stopped accumulating in depth even though it was still coming down very fine and very wet ..The accumulated snow had actually shrunk and was so saturated with a fine wetness to it …It was like someone fine sprayed it with ultra fine mist as it came down ..A very wet snow ,but NOT MELTED SNOW ….Definately not MELTED SNOW..no visable water or melting.  It acted like it was Chemically enhanced ! to absorb and hold more water !   It was almost like someone mixed Corn Starch with the SNOW ….
