These are college educated young people being surveyed here. Four in ten believe that government should forbid (that means prosecute, incidentally) speech that offends minority groups. One in ten believes Judge Judy is on the Supreme Court!
Is there anything worth fighting over when four in ten of our current generation of college educated kids has no belief in the First Amendment (nor, apparently, do they know what it is) say much less any of the others?
It’s even worse among non-college educated people.
You can argue that America is an idea and worth defending but I’m not sure I agree with that any more. There comes a point where if the people who are going to inherit this land when my time passes are unworthy, as demonstrated by their acts and beliefs, that there is simply no valid argument for defending anything.
Rather one should, in such a situation, strive to enjoy their remaining time, however much it may be, and stick the middle finger up until and unless that vast majority of those who will inherit what’s left change their minds and demonstrate that it’s worth fighting to preserve what once was.

USD is slowly rolling over
Sure would be nice if the break below 105 on the HUI a couple of days ago turned out to be a big bear trap

DEBKAfile January 21, 2016, 1:20 PM (IDT)
The Central Bank of Iran announced Thursday that two of the country’s state-run banks and 10 private banks have been reconnected to the SWIFT money transfer system, which links about 9,700 banks in 209 countries around the globe. The Iranian financial system had been cut off from direct international monetary transfers since the imposition of economic sanctions in 2012. The reconnection was enabled by the UN nuclear watchdog’s announcement last week that Tehran is in compliance with its nuclear agreement with Western powers.

on account of loose monetary policies then you have to think that gold and silver and the miners will participate.

When the DOW was down 550 waves of selling kept hitting the PM sector…there is no way that this action can just be explained by the randomness of mkts…the purpose of it all: to devalue gold as an asset class…and maintain confidence in paper structures.
Oh, well, that’s show biz…

Well, sort of. Actually I was thinking about Mrs Silverrider and wondering if she was still in the soap and hand cream business. Its that time of the year were the cold and dry season plays havoc with my hands and skin. Was wondering if I could order some of her hand lotion to fix these old cracked hands ? Could you drop me a note at Farmboy332@gmail.com sometime ?
I admire you for your endeavors to join the patriotic fight as an elected official and for your efforts to make a difference, to make a change. I’m sure you could write a book about the battles you have fought, the price you have paid, and the challenges you have faced in making your stand.
You sound a little tired, perhaps even a bit discouraged, in your post. I wish to recommend a book I just recently read and greatly enjoyed. I think you might enjoy reading it as well. ‘ Fight, Winning The Battles That Matter Most’ by Craig Groeschel. I had reached a state in my own life where everywhere I looked it seemed corruption and evil had prevailed. Quite a discouraging place to be. This book gave me hope, a second wind sort to speak, and is actually one of the reasons I decided to join in with fellow fighters at the Oasis. We all need a little inspiration from time to time. Carry on The Good Fight my friend, and my Very Best to you and your lovely family.

Yes sir, they fixed virtually everything overnight.
What’s interesting is that every currency is rallying hard against the USD except the ones that are heavily weighted against it, the Euro, Yen and Swiss. So-called “commodity currencies” are all up. I’m guessing because oil is getting a nice dead cat bounce for the second day in a row.
Soooo…we get pretty much what we always get

Good luck with your campaign and glad to see your still around. Glad you didn’t get sucked into the whats in it for me scheme of things. Good you can stick to your principles and hope you can run on that as people getting sick of special interest and bought and paid for gov.
ps General rule when your new at anything is you see things that need to be addressed but as time goes on your shut down like your saying about making enemies ” especially if they can single you out if there is not enough of like minded people or are but afraid to say anything” then after awhile people just settle into the same old same old business as usual as you only have so much energy in a day. Hope you can change what you can even if one thing at a time.

Good to see you posting again. I check in every now and then to see what is happening. If I followed G&S like I did 4 years ago I would have gone stark raving mad by this point. I haven’t check my piddling amount of stocks in 3 years. Best thing that I ever did was run for office. I had to make a choice – was I just going to gripe and complain or try to do something about it. I am up for re-election March 1. Boy have I made some enemies. If you just do your job and do what is right you will be a target. We are one of the most corrupt nations on the face of the planet. It is worse than I thought. The worst corruption is the legalized kind. Hope everything is going well with you. If all you guys making zillions in G&S trading have nowhere to invest your excess “winnings”, my campaign could sure put it to good use.

And think you summed it up well with your comment of being able to ‘find’ whatever version or flavor of ‘news’ one wished to find or believe. Kind of like how many commentators are blaming the cost of low fuel for the market drop. Spin, more than fact, seems to drive all manner of media in this day and age. Getting so you don’t know who or what to believe anymore. Just ask those folks in Flint Michagan about the ‘safety’ of their drinking water.
Calling it a day my friend. Lets see if buygold has learned how to make coffee yet in the morning. 🙂
