both literally and figuratively .Iv done shark dives in my scuba days and learned their ways..they dont tolerate weakness ..you can swim among them if you dont act like pray ! Dont thrash around like you have fear .Iv touched them and pulled their tails and watch them scamper away. They dont know what to make of someone that intimidates them …
In the Garment business in the NEW YORK area there were many sharks and I lived very well with them .They respected me ,and I them…
Some of the smartest people I ever met were Russian Jews in the Garment business …We never had a bad word between us,or a verbal contract that wasent lived up to. ..We did quality work and they respected that ….We negotiated very tough ,but never angry and then lived up to our word.
I really liked that business because I and my family (father & Uncles,Aunts )were very good at it …The government gave the business away to JAPAN,CHINA etc….that ended it and I had to remake myself ….it was all I knew for 20 years and it was swept out from under us by Politicians.
The experience I had there served me well in my next business .I learned to apply myself with the same focus and it worked for the next 25 years.
Then I taught myself how to swim with Wall st sharks ..Its the same thing !
