Loading ...here’s a fun scenario: november… libertarians (under gary johnson?) take a few small states – maybe 20 electoral votes. the heffalumps and the jackasses split the rest evenly (or close to even), neither getting an electoral college majority.
the election goes immediately to the house of representatives, each state delegation getting one vote (re-read the constitutional provisions on the election of a president).
the heffalumps, holding control of the most state delegations in the house, will prevail.
results:
a) the donald is elected president
b) THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY BECOMES A REAL POLITICAL FORCE.
c) the jackasses go home and pout.
from where i sit, it looks like an intriguing possibility.
