When the slaves were set free, it was probably hard times having left the master’s house. They had to start over, find work, a way to eat.
Comment:
The slaves were considered very valuable assets, and were cared for. Food shelter clothing visits to the Dr or Veterinarian etc. I’m thinking some of the slaves may have “stayed on” but had to be paid after they were freed.
These days there are plenty of employers paying less than needed for food shelter clothing visits to the Dr. etc. Much of the public these days are probably worse off financially than the slaves.
So what is going on with Trump etc just may very well be a similar situation as the freeing of the slaves in the 1860s. Today’s “slave” owners are imo, the large global multi national corporations.
The future looks very bad for large global multi national corporations. After this major long term reversal takes hold, we can probably very safely SHORT the LIVING daylights out of them.
