Dolphins recorded having a conversation ‘just like two people’ for first time

By Sarah Knapton, Science Editor

Two dolphins have been recorded having a conversation for the first time after scientists developed an underwater microphone which could distinguish the animals’ different “voices”.

Researchers have known for decades that the mammals had an advanced form of communication, using distinctive clicks and whistles to show they are excited, happy, stressed or separated from the group.

But scientists have now shown that dolphins alter the volume and frequency of pulsed clicks to form individual “words” which they string together into sentences in much the same way that humans speak.

Researchers at the Karadag Nature Reserve, in Feodosia, Russia, recorded two Black Sea bottlenose dolphins, called Yasha and Yana, talking to each other in a pool. They found that each dolphin would listen to a sentence of pulses without interruption, before replying.

Lead researcher Dr Vyacheslav Ryabov, said: “Essentially, this exchange resembles a conversation between two people.

“Each pulse that is produced by dolphins is different from another by its appearance in the time domain and by the set of spectral components in the frequency domain.

“In this regard, we can assume that each pulse represents a phoneme or a word of the dolphin’s spoken language.

“The analysis of numerous pulses registered in our experiments showed that the dolphins took turns in producing [sentences] and did not interrupt each other, which gives reason to believe that each of the dolphins listened to the other’s pulses before producing its own.

“This language exhibits all the design features present in the human spoken language, this indicates a high level of intelligence and consciousness in dolphins, and their language can be ostensibly considered a highly developed spoken language, akin to the human language.”

No doubt that case of liberalism will get you every time. 🙂

That being said, I think she’s really in trouble physically. What will the libtards do now?

Kaine, Biden, Bill, Obama third term?

I think Hillary has a bad case of liberalism and it’s getting the best of her. A double minded person is unstable in all ways.

contingencies

if, as seems increasingly possible, hillary’s health forces her to drop out of the race, what options are open to the jackass party?

1) bernie sanders – second most delegates at the jackass convention.

a) not even a member of the party.

b) loathed by the party insiders.

c) too late to get on the ballot in many states (write – in?)

2)  joe biden – obozo’s vice president.

a) he’s a clown with a habit of putting his foot in his mouth.

b) sure target of lawsuits by bernie if he tries it.

c) too late to get on the ballot (as above).

3) tim kaine

a) virtually unknown outside virginia.

b) sure target of lawsuits by bernie (as above).

c) to late to change the ballot (as above).

if you don’t think the GOP has platoons of lawyers in each and every state just waiting to throw legal rocks under the wheels of any attempt to change their ballots, you don’t know how partisan politics work.

it’s getting interesting, folks.

Really good point. Maybe Tim Kaine is who they’re really hoping ends up being president. Strong ties to Wall Street, spent a lot of time in the Honduras, I believe in the peace corp. learning Spanish, uber-pro immigration. No doubt Hillary is really sick, they might just be praying she holds on until November.

She has a problem though, and his name is Donald J. Trump. Unless the oligarchs manage to steal the election…

how to get another obama elected

Posted by redneckokie1 @ 14:59 on September 11, 2016

run a high profile democrat for president with a very liberal senator for vp. get the high profile democratic elected and pass the torch to someone who could never get elected on his own. just something to think about.

trump’s deplorable majority

i am reminded of what happened in the brexit vote. all the talking heads and intelligensia had been blathering for weeks and months how stupid the idea was, how only the most dimwitted or xenophobic could vote to leave the eu. anybody who spoke in favor of brexit was publicly scorned by the leftist controlled media, so they mostly kept quiet …until they found themselves in the privacy of the voting booth. then, they voted for british independence – overwhelmingly. the mass of england, excluding scotland and metro london, voted two to one to leave the eu.
i think something similar may be brewing here. trump supporters have been publicly scorned. those who support traditional american values have been muffled by political correctness. in the privacy of the voting booth, they may tell a sharply different tale from that of the mainstream media narative. Re Trump, I often hear “He scares me” or “He talks stupid”

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 14:16 on September 11, 2016

It got me thinking, and assume some of you have heard the same thing, but don’t have an answer or response ready, so below, so you guys are ready, is a note I e-mailed to a friend that said

“Trump Scares me”

Keven,
You got me thinking when you said “Trump scares me”, it was not the first time I’ve heard people say that. I’ve heard it from others, around me and dealers at coin shows. Very thought provoking for me after talking to you? What is everybody afraid of???

Another Vietnam war? More 18% mortgage interest rates in 1981 that killed auto and home sales and businesses? Another 1987 stock market crash? Another March ’00 Dot Com bust, and the following recession in 2001?

Another 9/11/01 terrorist attack during that recession? Leading to a forced dropping interest rates fast, with no doc liar loans to create a real estate boom, to over ride the stock market losses, and over ride the terrorists getting satisfaction for collapsing the economy.

Another real estate bubble (’01 to ’07) and following great recession into March ’09? More Obama care? Trump is right. What the hell do we have to lose?

I gave up voting after they killed JFK. I did vote in 1992 for Ross Perot, because he was a patriotic, saw and was against out sourcing jobs, remember that “Sucking Sound” he described? The entire past was one big fiasco after another. The gov’t picked the winners and the losers.

Re R.I.N.O. Republican In Name Only

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:13 on September 11, 2016

I took a test once on the computer, and found out I was an “Isolationist”. Not completely conservative like I thought I was. Trump thinks a lot like me, so maybe he’s also an Isolationist, but doesn’t know yet and or can’t tell anyone.

Now, If I was going to run for president, and knowing that the people were fed up with 8 years of a Democrat president, and I KNEW it was time for a republican president, I would enter the race as a republican, because ONLY a republican can win after 8 full years of democrats pissing everyone off.

A lot of Tea Party folks (outsiders) got in office calling themselves republicans, (in name only) and have NOT been cooperating with EITHER parties, re stalemates on raising the debt limit for one example.

Note, my observation re John McCain. He is an iron clad flaming liberal democrat, that ran as a republican when the time was right or ripe, for republicans to win.

Back in the late 1960s a Vietnam Veteran friend, told me…..”Ya know, it does not matter who you vote for, its always the same gov’t.” and he was right. The left wing and right wing are both on the same bird.

The same “bird” that raised our taxes, gave away all our work, and imported people at the same time.

Hi treefrog

Posted by Buygold @ 11:19 on September 11, 2016

I see what you’re saying. I hope he’s not a RINO, at least in the sense that Paul Ryan, McCain, McConnell etc. are all part of the one party system.

Interesting times. I’m glad there’s some football today, not sure I can take another minute of 9/11 remembrance…

Buygold, I took this from a commenter on your post. Seems appropriate! LOL!!!

buygold,

Posted by treefrog @ 10:52 on September 11, 2016

you said:

“I do think Trump will win in a landslide but if he is indeed a RINO then that would mean the money masters own him too, which would be pretty disheartening.”

there’s a non sequitur in there.  if he is indeed a RINO, that means that he is not a traditional republican.  it does NOT neccessarily mean that the “money masters” (whoever they may be) own him.

Hillary Clinton Reportedly Suffers “Medical Episode”, Rushed Away From Ground Zero: Fox News

Fox News senior correspondent Rick Leventhal, citing an anonymous law enforcement official as a source, reported that Hillary Clinton who was present at the Sept 11 ceremony in downtown Manhattan, suffered a “medical episode” when she stumbled and nearly fell after her knees buckled, and was then ushered into a van, in the process losing a shoe, as she was rushed away from ground zero in an early departure.
