Gold Fields CEO: we are facing a global gold shortage Aug 26, 2016
Nick Holland, CEO of South African based gold miner Gold Fields, stunned the audience with his speech at the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy conference in Brisbane on Monday.
Holland stated that the gold mining industry is not spending enough to sustain itself into the future, with slowed primary gold supply growth hinting that we may be hitting a peak in production along with reduced exploration spend and a virtual halt in new projects.
Holland had studied the mine life of 11 leading gold companies to find that it has been on the decline, dropping from 24 to 17 years.
A research agency report also found that 52% of production mined in 2015 was at above reserve grades, which indicates a deliberate bypassing of lower grade gold ore.

Maya you made a comment the other day about you knew how the ‘News’ was made. Pretty disgusted at this moment while reading some of the lead stories on Drudge Report. Much of the media is bought and paid for by Clinton, just like so many of the media was in Obama’s camp. The latest Wilki leaks just full of proof of the number and extent of Media Whores that are still employed in the ‘news’ biz. I can remember a time when such discovery, such evidence, would have been reason for immediate termination from their employers.
The corruption in this country by our leadership and the media knows no bounds. We need a Great Purging of the system. Americans have the chance to get the job done on November 8th. Have enough of us had enough ? The answer is coming soon.
