Loading ...Yes , I remember The House of Blue Lights on Gratiot back in the late 50’s . At the time Gratiot was THE highway coming into Detroit from the north ( Port Huron , Mt. Clemens , etc.) . What I do not know is if the place was named to cash in on the fame of the song , which was very popular in the area , or if the song was written about the place . I suspect the latter , but cannot be sure of it .
