Faithless Electors
There is no federal law or constitutional provision requiring electors to vote for the party that nominated them, and over the years a number of electors have voted against the instructions of the voters. The most recent example of a faithless elector was probably an accident: in 2008, a Minnesota elector nominated by the Democratic Party cast a ballot for John Edwards, the vice presidential running mate of John Kerry. It is not common for an elector to vote for the other party’s candidate, however: remember that most electors are selected by the political party for their party loyalty, and many are party leaders. The last time an elector crossed party lines was in 1972, when an elector nominated by the Republican Party cast his ballot for the Libertarian ticket.
Some states have passed laws that require their electors to vote as pledged. These laws may either impose a fine on an elector who fails to vote according to the statewide or district popular vote, or may disqualify an elector who violates his or her pledge and provide a replacement elector. No elector has ever been penalized or replaced — nor have these laws been fully vetted by the courts. The states with laws that attempt to bind the votes of presidential electors are below:
Alabama | Nebraska |
Alaska | Nevada |
California | New Mexico |
Colorado | North Carolina |
Connecticut | Oklahoma |
Delaware | Ohio |
District of Columbia | Oregon |
Florida | South Carolina |
Hawaii | Tennessee |
Maine | Utah |
Massachusetts | Vermont |
Minnesota | Virginia |
Michigan | Washington |
Mississippi | Wisconsin |
Montana | Wyoming |
Most of the laws cited above require electors to vote for the candidate of the party that nominated the elector, or require the elector to sign a pledge to do so. Some go further: Oklahoma and Washington impose a civil penalty of $1,000; in North Carolina, the fine is $500, the faithless elector is deemed to have resigned, and a replacement is appointed. In South Carolina, an elector who violates his or her pledge is subject to criminal penalties, and in New Mexico a violation is a fourth degree felony. In Michigan and Utah, a candidate who fails to vote as required is considered to have resigned, and a replacement is appointed.
Re The Future Of Real Estate, Trump Going Against Himself?
Don’t be surprised if these low interest rates, and all those tax deductions supporting real estate are removed. The original reason for tax deductions was to help one middle class family man buy one house.
It was not intended to help real estate “hoarders” invest small down payments, combined with borrowed funds, to build up their net worth (like savings account) in the sector. Trump I hear and some of his group are for a gold standard.
If we had a stable value gold backed currency, that even gained value over time, nobody would have to be betting or assuming a currency would lose value over time and have to buy some THING that goes up inverse fake money losing value.
Inflation hedges or houses used as “money” creates excess demand, pushing up prices, making it harder for middle class to buy them. Thank God people are NOT hoarding and storing FOOD or CARS as money to protect the value of their excess income.
If Gold was used as money, and hoarding it drove the price gradually higher and higher over time, it would NOT hurt the public. Nobody eats it or lives in it. In fact, when the US Dollar was backed by gold, from 1800 to 1913, 113 years, prices actually fell slightly.
You didn’t have to ask for a pay raise, or get a new Sears catalog for 113 years. House loans were 50% down, with five year loans at about 2% I think. When somebody from a bank gave you a loan, you were scrutinized because….
They were HANDING you someone else’s GOLD, and very important you gave back what you borrowed.
Leasing cars is another gimmick. Tax deduction for businesses, and support for retail sales. In a sense we do have car “land lords” hoarding cars, and all the little people who can’t afford to buy a new car are induced or seduced, into leasing a new car.
They make payments for three years or more, and after that, have to RETURN it in good condition with low mileage, and resell or re-lease it to another victim. Years ago it was a big deal when someone bought a new car. It was kept for 10 years or more.
Entry level income, right out of high school, in the 1960s, a new car was $1800 to $3800 and a three year loan.
On the Electoral College Votes……
Are the Electoral College votes now “set in concrete” or are they still subject to change??
Thanks in advance for the enlightenment.

The Smarter Of The “elite” Know They Have No Choice But To Go Against Themselves
Same as Teddy Roosevelt a hunter, KNEW he had to create protection (go against himself) for wildlife (conservation, bag limits) if he and other hunters wanted something to hunt in the future. Going against the “market hunters” one farmer of which was known to have killed 1500 deer.
The “market hunters” of these days are global multinational businesses that operate freely across borders for profit, without any regard for any particular country. Until the summer ’08. USA Consumer spending fell off a cliff. Many bad loans etc.
We also had the global philanthropists (lobby) draining US wealth, and succeeded, in elimination of poverty, and more middle class people in many other undeveloped nations. Big global business and big global welfare have to know, their future now needs a prosperous USA to “harvest” in the future.
Local USA Banks along with USA domestic governments, both need more jobs and higher wages in the future if they want to survive.
So what’s up with hiring “crisis actors” out of Toronto to participate in a “video” in Colorado in November, 2016?

Agree. Drain the swamp. It’s now or never…
Maya @ 12:33 re Hillary to manipulate the Republicans into selecting the worse candidate
I can’t buy that. I always have problems with that Armstrong guy. None of the main stream Republicans supported the “worst” guy Trump. She may have been happy he was chosen, by the people, but not chosen by fellow republicans. They all went against him.
Re New Leaders In Foreign Countries That Go Against Global Businesses
In the past, every time some new populist leader gets in, and rescinds or suspends a mining or drilling agreement etc with an outside nation, the new anti Free Trade Leader is commonly referred to as a “LEFTIST” by the leftist media.
In fact, TPTB and their media have been somewhat leftist themselves, for decades, and if they are secretly supporting Trump, you could say they realized their ways or agendas ran out of steam resulting in the’08 crash and they are changing their ways.
Armstrong Exposes “The Real Clinton Conspiracy” Which Backfired
Clinton called this her “pied piper” strategy, that intentionally cultivated extreme right-wing presidential candidates and that would turn the Republicans away from their more moderate candidates. This enlisted mainstream media who then focused to Trump and raise him above all others assuming that would help Hillary for who would vote for Trump?? This was a deliberate strategy all designed to propel Hillary to the White House.

Trump-Putin alliance sparks diplomatic crisis as British ministers demand assurances from US over Russia
Britain is facing a diplomatic crisis with the US over Donald Trump’s plans to forge an alliance with Vladimir Putin and bolster the Syrian regime.
In a significant foreign policy split, officials admitted that Britain will have some “very difficult” conversations with the President-elect in coming months over his approach to Russia.
It comes after Mr Trump used his first interviews since winning the US election to indicate that he will withdraw support for rebels in Syria and thank Vladimir Putin for sending him a “beautiful” letter.

Trump re The Other Side That Lost
The other side got their way for a long long time. They were anti Darwinian, promotion and survival of the un-fittest, globally. This back lash started after the 2008 financial crisis. I noticed many people switching to American cars and trucks.
One lady I met at a garage sale had a brand new Chevy Suburban. I asked her about it. She told me they got rid of the Toyota, bought the Chevy, and next, they were going to get rid of that Honda and get another American car.

The pardon is not going to come from Trump. It would come from Obama, and could cover crimes she has not been charged with. Just as Ford pardoned Nixon unconditionally for Watergate.
Ororeef–I agree–CNN & MSNBC are still running nothing but negative slants on all Trump reporting
Just watched the odious Jake Tapper–all Trump negative–they also made a big deal about a single, instance of a student shouting white power to some Hillary protesters on Campus–but not a word about the rioting, looting and beating by the Hillary supporter–let the KKK have a pro-Trump parade-goody!! Fact is the KKK doesn’t have the millions of members it had in the early 1900s–what do they have? 20K-50K?? Not much.
Why doesn’t the UK want to be allies with Russia?

Goldcountry
Really interesting. If true, I do hope it comes to light, we need to know what the scumbag elites have been doing to our country and if trials for treason are necessary then so be it.
Really hope Trump is able to drain the swamp, a good first step would be for the House to replace Rat Ryan and for Trump to pick non establishment types in his cabinet. Not really hearing great things about Reince Priebus even though he did help Trump, I’d rather see Kellyanne Conway for his chief of staff.
We’re going to know a lot more about Trump with his cabinet picks IMHO.
What does the LEFT FEAR
from TRump ? Theu will lose their FORUM at the PRESS conferences ,they should be disinvited from any Public FORUM that is Televised …No Television exposure !……LOOK at what the NY TIMES said about apologizing for not covering the Trump RALLYS in their Newspaper ! The LEFT controls Public opinion through the Media and thats their weakness. Think twice about inguinal hernia repair-with or without mesh–ask your surgeon what your chances of strangulation are-if they are high and u are
already “symptomatic”=experiencing pain–then u may have no choice but to do surgery–20% chance of severe chronic pain seems high to me but that means 80% are pain free–so u decide. If your chances of strangulation are low–like 5-10-15%–then u may want to wait.
What patients suffering from mesh pain have to say
The medical literature unequivocally says that 20% of patients who have mesh implanted for hernia repair develop chronic pain. But that is just a statistic. We have compiled some comments made by patients suffering from mesh pain to put it in human terms. We have only redacted private information.
I had bi-lateral inguinal hernia surgery in August of 2010. I still suffer from constant pain and discomfort which limits my ability to work full time and participate in my life as I once did. I am looking for any information that could help me regain some control of the chronic pain I am in without haveing to rely on pain medication or other temporary fixes. Thanks for your time.

The report from the Danish Hernia Data Base group 4 suggests that in current practice, the incidence of chronic pain 1 year after groin hernia repair may be approximately 29%. That number is unexpectedly high, and certainly will gain the attention of all surgeons who repair hernias. It is important to know if the incidence is truly so high and, if so, to learn what causes the pain. If the incidence truly exceeds 1 percent, then pain will need to be specifically mentioned in preoperative discussions with patients.
The Danish report is based on two questionnaires mailed 1 year postoperatively to 1,443 patients having a hernia repair during a 2 month period in 1998. More than 80% of patients responded to each questionnaire. The first time around, patients were asked whether or not they had pain; 29% said they had pain, and 11% indicated that their pain was disabling to some degree. The second questionnaire was sent to those reporting pain, asking about specific pain characteristics; 58% of those experiencing pain now indicated that their pain impaired specific activities. There was no correlation of postoperative pain with the type of hernia or the method used for repair.
Liberals run to Canukistan
Canadian border residents say it’s not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, liberal arts majors, global-warming activists, and “green” energy proponents crossing their fields at night.
“I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn,” said southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. “He was cold, exhausted and hungry, and begged me for a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn’t have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?”
In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields, but they just stuck their fingers in their ears and kept coming. Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals just south of the border, pack them into electric cars, and drive them across the border, where they are simply left to fend for themselves after the battery dies.
“A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions,” an Alberta border patrolman said. “I found one carload without a single bottle of Perrier water, or any gemelli with shrimp and arugula. All they had was a nice little Napa Valley cabernet and some kale chips. When liberals are caught, they’re sent back across the border, often wailing that they fear persecution from Trump high-hairers.
Rumors are circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer, study the Constitution, and find jobs that actually contribute to the economy.
In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in blue-hair wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the ’50s.
“If they can’t identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age,” an official said.
Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage, are buying up all the Barbara Streisand CD’s, and are overloading the internet while downloading jazzercise apps to their cell phones.
“I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can’t support them,” an Ottawa resident said. “After all, how many art-history majors does one country need?”
