WHY THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE IS HERE TO STAY

Posted by treefrog @ 21:55 on November 19, 2016
in order to change the electoral college it would take a constitutional amendment. in order to amend the constitution, both the house and senate must propose the amendment with two thirds majorities (or it can be proposed by a convention of the states – theoretically possible, but never happens).
then, the proposed amendment must be ratified by the legislatures of three quarters of the states, at which point it becomes part of the constitution – the basic law of the country.
…BUT it is always the losers of the most recent election who are motivated to change the rules of the game. being losers, they are by definition in a minority – in power in a minority of the states. remember, to change things, there must be a three quarters majority, which is NOT what the losers have. if they had it, they would not be the losers.
presently, the party of the jackass (democrats) are the losers in the electoral college. they control eleven state legislatures. eleven is less than one quarter. three quarters are required to ratify an amendment. ain’t gonna happen.
the party of the heffalump (republicans) do have control of enough state legislatures to ratify an amendment. but, having won the latest contest, they have no motivation to change the rules of the game. ain’t gonna happen. it is always thus.

Title: Barbra Streisand Fans Say ‘Shut Up and Sing’

Barbra Streisand Fans Say ‘Shut Up and Sing’By BELINDA GOLDSMITH, ReutersEarlier this week, Babs turned into a potty-mouth after a heckler made a comment about her anti-Bush skit.NEW YORK (Oct. 13) – Some ofBarbra Streisand’s fans have some advice for the diva as she makes a rare U.S. tour — shut up and sing. Streisand, 64, an ardent Democrat, has used the opportunity of her first U.S. tour in 12 years to snipe at President George W. Bush, employing a Bush impersonator to sing a duet with her while blasting the administration’s policies. Not all members of her audience, who paid up to $250 for a ticket, have appreciated her politics. During a performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden this week, one concertgoer yelled out, asking if the concert was a fundraiser. Streisand replied: “Shut the f— up!” Streisand apologized to the audience of about 20,000 people for losing her temper, but her outburst and inclusion of her political views in her show alienated some fans who have written to newspapers and Web sites to rebuke her. One fan, Margaret Ferrante, said she was outraged to hear Streisand ridicule an audience member and any Republicans in the audience. “She turned a display of her phenomenal musical talent into a profanity-laden attack on people who paid good money to see her,” Ferrante wrote the New York Daily News on Thursday. “I love her voice but could not in good conscience ever pay to see her perform again.” Another fan, John Culver, who attended the concert on the night of the heckler, said the man had been bothering the singer all night — but slammed her anti-Bush skit. “Don’t bite the hand that buys your record, Barbra. We all know your politics. Shut up and sing!” Culver wrote to the Daily News. Dan Johancsik wrote to the Orange County Register in California to say: “Subjecting loyal fans to one’s own sour grapes politics is flat-out immature.” Columnist Liz Smith in the New York Post praised Streisand’s show — but blasted the singer for making her concert so political. “She apologized for losing her temper, and spoke of unity. But it is the very nature of her pointless parody that divides,” wrote Smith. A spokesman for Streisand said she had no further comment about the incident and no plans to change her show following the complaints. “It was just something that happened. There are a lot of people who are supportive of how she handled this,” he told Reuters. Streisand, who is America’s biggest-selling female recording artist of all time with 71 million albums sold, is a well-known opponent of Bush, with several entries on her Web site (http://www.barbrastreisand.com) attacking the president and his policies.

Seasonax Chart American Elections

This year the S&P 500 has performed as it often does in election years. Source: Seasonax.
Marked in red on this chart you can also see the current course of the S&P 500 (the right-hand scale). Notice the confirmity: in the middle of January and at the beginning of February there were interim lows at almost the same time, before growth until April; it fell again until the end of May, before correcting again almost simultaneously at the end of June. Since then prices have been and still are growing – the way they do in a typical election year.

The price of gold typically increases in the second half of the year. This pattern is so striking that even a large number of market observers are aware of it. However, using Seasonax allows us to investigate this more closely.

Take a look at the seasonal gold chart, which shows the average prices over twenty years.

#Gold shows a strong seasonal trend. Source: Seasonax

As you can see, gold falls seasonally from the end of February until well into July, while increases take place between July and the beginning of October and then, particularly, in January and February.

Didn’t know that about Barbara. I see it no different than sitting down to dinner and a intertainment starts  preaching their religious beliefs on everyone and telling everyone to pray. It’s imposing their belief in a public place that everyone may not have their views. He was just another rude classless jerk looking to get his face on in TV and doesn’t even know what he’s talking about.

I heard part of it asking him how he is going to make him feel safe. What is he a radical or illegal? If he wants to feel safe maybe he should back the rule of law and those inforcing it instead of trying to label it racist. If 40 thousand Russians were crossing the border everyday what would they say then. Did Kate feel safe when she was shot and killed  by a illegal in SF for no reason. One of hundreds killed hurt or victimized. Do European women feel safe walking the streets of Europe with all these so called refugees running around now? From what I heard from Europe they don’t.

I think “1984” was set in Britain

Same problem with so called Celebrities like Streisand  who at a concert where Fans paid a lot of money to hear her Sing but while she had them captive before she sang and already had their money ..she decides to go on a RANT herself…

The Fans were so incensed they kept shouting “Shut up and Sing,,,Shut up and Sing”  Thats a REAl ABUSE of Paying customers ..  At least in Marty Robbins case it wasent the Singer doing the Abusing.. He was profesional and did his best overcome something he had no hand in,but Streisand was a selfish arrogant witch who didnt care about the Fans  ..She took advantage of them ….

to the jackasses

Posted by treefrog @ 12:02 on November 19, 2016

the party of the jackass – democrats was “surprised” by trump’s victory because for some time now, they have shut themselves up in an echo chamber with their own cheerleaders (cnn, msnbc, etc) and not allowed anything they disagreed with to be said (political correctness).
welcome back to reality. the heffalumps won, the jackasses lost. you will have four, and possibly eight, years to get used to the idea.

by the way, it’s not just the presidency. the american people gave the heffalumps control of the house and senate. we are on the cusp of seeing the supreme court restructured in a way that will likely last at least a generation.
on the state level, the people gave the vast majority of governorships and state legislatures to the heffalumps.
do you think with all these clues from the voters, you might figure out that the jackasses have been doing things the people don’t support.

wakey, wakey!! just because you’re asses doesn’t mean you have to keep your head there.

NY show, that’s like paying for a steak and getting a Hamburger. He should get his money back as well as others who were there to watch the show not their rant. Totally unprofessional.

Correct me if wrong but they’re copyng the wrong people under the circumstances. Hamilton was a proponent of the electoral college. Just more mindless clowns

Ororeef….That’s very upsetting news and IMO there is only ONE answer for the welfare bums and hoodlums.

Posted by silverngold @ 10:41 on November 19, 2016

A DAYS WORK FOR A DAYS PAY!! The answer is simple but implementing it won’t be easy, at least at the start……. but maybe it can be done by baby steps to start and increased over time as jobs return to America and Trump gets his plans in place to rebuild America’s infrastructure. If all the $$Trillions that have been given to other countries had instead been used to rebuild America, she would be the shining jewel of the world instead of the heap of decayed fruit she has become with past “leaders” like Obama, both Bush’s, Clinton’s, etc.

To be honest, it looks like an impossible task Trump has before him, but if he can make a successful start…..and that includes stopping these paid rioters and agitators with whatever force is necessary, and then making even very small baby steps in the right direction, he might have a chance to turn it around and gradually return America to what she once was. AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL!! America needs to resurrect one of her old slogans: AMERICA, LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!! If you’re in America to help unify it by all pulling together in the right direction to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, then lets get to work making her what she once was…..but if you’re here to divide and destroy her then GET THE HELL OUT!! Revive the Pledge of Allegiance and if a person cannot say and mean those words they are no longer welcome in America. PERIOD!!  Anyway, that’s how I see it! All the best from Silverngold!!

How come people think that

Posted by Ororeef @ 10:22 on November 19, 2016

if they put some Stupid people in charge they will suddenly become experts at economic activity .  The Founding Fathers were RICH people that got tired of Stupid People in Government …..DUH !     Does that sound familiar ?

Cashless is an ASSAULT on Constitutional freedom of Association , and Pursuit of Happiness.

Its Economically STUPID and a Main cause of the collapse of velocity of Money. The very definition of Depression .

He’s getting BAD ADVICE !  .TOO many academics giving leaders bad advice based on some theory they read in a book written by someone that never ran a business that made a profit.  Its whole premise has NOTHING to do with economics ,but with slavery !  How to impoverish people so that they will become dependent on Government handouts from their Masters !   DEMOCRATS ALL !  SLAVE MASTERS to the core ! Every slave Master in the Pre CIVIL WAR SOUTH was a DEMOCRAT !  Unless India changes its ill conceived cashless policy it will be ruined  .The temptation of greater TAX revenue is LIE ,its got nothing to do with additional TAXES ,its all about Control  !  Taxes will rise from greater economic activity ,not less.  What they are doing is about the Growth of Government.  What they are doing is trying to get POOR people to pay TAXES ..how stupid is that !  Why not try giving them opportunity to go into business !  Give them a GRANT if they start a business !

I sure hope we never see a “cashless society.” I can’t think of many things that would inhibit freedom more. The potential for abuse by the gov is just horrendous. For Modi to do what he did in India … with so many poor people who have no means to convert the cash, it’s war upon his own population and he’s going to feel the consequences.

US Vice-President-elect Mike Pence was booed on Friday at a performance of the hit musical Hamilton.

After the show, a cast member thanked Mr Pence for attending and read a letter to him on stage.

“We sir are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us,” Brandon Dixon said.

The message was reportedly penned by the show’s writers when they learned that Mr Pence planned to attend.

Dixon’s reading was greeted with cheers from the audience at the Richard Rogers Theatre in New York.

One audience member tweeted to say there was a three-minute standing ovation when one character performed a song directly to Mr Pence which included the lyrics: “A small query for you / What comes next? / You’ve been freed / Do you know how hard it is to lead?”

Mr Pence was loudly booed as he entered the theatre, and audience members said the performance was repeatedly stopped because of jeers.

When Mr Dixon addressed the audience at the end, he urged them not to boo and asked Mr Pence, who was leaving, to stay and listen.

“You know, we had a guest in the audience this evening, and Vice-President-elect Pence I see you are walking out but I hope you will hear us.

“There’s nothing to boo here ladies and gentlemen… We have a message for you sir and we hope you will hear us out.”

One or Two more days should TURN the MIners !
