Richard640 @ 15:10 Kuntsler Always The Fine Wordsmith,

but I’m going to take exception with his parting line: “But he did raise up those children of his somehow, and that’s all we’ve got to go on for the moment.” I don’t think Kuntsler is that small minded, or has that much lack of vision, to make such a myopic closing statement.

Trump brings a lot of experience to the table having suffered through both failure and success in his business life. I can only imagine the thousands of folks he developed working business relationships with in order to build his empire. ( Oh yeah, Obama would probably say he didn’t build that. And coming from his background as a community organizer, he would be qualified to make such a judgement…) It is obvious to any fair minded person, you don’t have to like Trump even, that he knows how to get things done. It is hard to imagine someone building the company employing thousands without exhibiting top notch leadership skills and some fair amount of know how. Trump brings all of those skills to the White House and for just a dollar a year salary. Quite a bargain.

I would also suppose, that anyone who can build his brand of Hotels and Golf Courses around the world has some experience with dealing in varied International settings and peoples. Once again, proving he can Get Er Done. So I think you can check off the box, ‘Works Effectively With Others’.

And I think you would half to admit, he may not be as polished as we are use to seeing in our politicians, (thank God), but he is a hell of a salesman. Sometimes in spite of himself. And I think he is a great salesman because overall, and from his heart, he is open and honest. Something we have not seen in Washington in a long, long time.

Yeah, I think Trump brings a lot more to the table than just raising an outstanding family, but even that seems to be something out of most people’s grasp today in America. Kunstler is bright, and educated, he will eventually get the picture. 🙂

We are all in their hands. They do whatever they want. If they really want to make America great again, they would do it, for their own benefit. Maybe Ted Cruz and the existing Congress were BETTER, the REAL rebels against the “same ole shadow gov’t”.

Think about it. They were cutting back on military spending, and known to be throwing Israel under the bus. Totally anti status quo. If I’m right on this, TPTB over riding an authentic revolution against them, by getting Trump in, its just another big screwing for Americans.

This election was for all the marbles and alot of folks put their faith in him.”

But before November 8th, we had nada, zero, zip, zilch of anything or anyone to put faith in.  This is the first Thanksgiving in at least 8 years, that I have a glimmer of hope for our Country. Perhaps it aint much, aint all I want, but I will accept that as enough for now. Or put another way, the future is one hell of a lot brighter than it has been in a long time. Trump is already making a difference if in that regard alone, like you said, a lot of folks put their faith in him. And that is a start. Where there is Faith, there is Hope.

America is turning back from the gates of hell. Sound too dramatic ? Perhaps the best definition of hell I ever heard told was this: ” Hell is the absence of all hope.” That is exactly where many of us Americans, old and young alike, found ourselves before Trump. We are no longer staring into a fiery abyss, with Obama or Hillary pushing on our backs.

It aint over until the fat lady sings, and thankfully, ole lying pant suit was jerked from the stage before she had a chance to sing her song. Her song is silenced, decided in the court of public opinion. Who sez there aint a God? 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving one and all…..esp Scruffy…..

So he  says now that the Clintons are nice people and they have suffered enough. WHAT!! WHAT!! They robbed billions from the starving and poverty stricken Haitians, were responsible for the murder of hundreds of thousands, treason etc. etc. rape, child rape etc. etc and they are now to go on living their hi lifestyle with their ill begotten gains. If Trump was not misquoted then he is a psychopath like the rest of them.

re the mkts and fundamentals…they don’t exist, all that exists is the Rig.

What we have seen since election night, is the Rig on steroids….the big question is why…or is it just the Rig operating in thin mkts, which I think it is, as no-one knows what to do, until we hear more from Trump.

Farmboy=how deeply absurd Democratic ideology had become with its annoying victimology narrative, the incessant yammer about “diversity” and “inclusion,”

Posted by Richard640 @ 15:10 on November 23, 2016

Boo Hoo

James Kunstler

America didn’t get what it expected, but perhaps it got what it deserved, good and hard. Daddy’s in the house and he busted straight into the nursery and now the little ones are squalling in horror. Mommy was discovered to be a grifting old jade who ran the household into a slum and she’s been turned out to solemnly await the judgment of the courts, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. The kids on campus have gone temporarily insane over this domestic situation and some wonder if they’ll ever get over it.

Trump as The USA’s Daddy? Well, yeah. Might he turn out to be a good daddy? A lot of people worry that he can’t be. Look how he behaved on the campaign trail: no behavioral boundaries… uccchhh. He even lurches as he walks, like Frankenstein. Not very reassuring — though it appears that somehow he raised up a litter of high-functioning kids of his own. Not a tattoo or an earplug among them. No apparent gender confusion. All holding rather responsible positions in the family business. Go figure….

Judging from the internal recriminations among Democratic Party partisans playing out in the newspapers, it’s as if they all woke up simultaneously from a hypnotic trance realizing what an absolute dud they put up for election in Hillary Clinton — and even beyond that obvious matter, how deeply absurd Democratic ideology had become with its annoying victimology narrative, the incessant yammer about “diversity” and “inclusion,” as if pixie dust were the sovereign remedy for a national nervous breakdown. But can they move on from there? I’m not so sure.

For all practical purposes, both traditional parties have blown themselves up. The Democratic Party morphed from the party of thinking people to the party of the thought police, and for that alone they deserve to be flushed down the soil pipe of history where the feckless Whigs went before them. The Republicans have floundered in their own Special Olympics of the Mind for decades, too, so it’s understandable that they have fallen hostage to such a rank outsider as Trump, so cavalier with the party’s dumb-ass shibboleths. It remains to be seen whether the party becomes a vengeful, hybrid monster with an orange head, or a bridge back to reality. I give the latter outcome a low percentage chance.

Mommy is all about feelings and Daddy’s role is action and that is another reason that Hillary lost and Trump won. We’ve heard enough about people’s feelings and it just doesn’t matter anymore. You’re offended? Suck an egg. Someone appropriated your culture? Go shit in your sombrero. What matters is how we’re going to contend with the winding down of Modernity — the techno-industrial orgy that is losing its resource and money mojo. The politics of sacred victimhood has got to yield to the politics of staying alive.

President-elect Trump may not know it yet, but events are now in charge, not personalities, not even his super-sized persona. Global trade and economic activity have been winding down all year and it’s finally affecting financial markets kept aloft on borrowed money, sending a strong signal through bonds that the borrowed money may never be paid down, and that additional borrowing will cost a whole lot more — so much more that it will bankrupt the nations that issue it.

That alone will make it difficult for a President Trump to scare up the ready cash for the infrastructure-rebuilding fiesta so many expect. And if he does manage to flush the funding out of the banking thickets, it is liable to carry an inflationary bird flu that will end up killing money all around the world. We won’t be worrying about Trans Pacific Partnerships anymore because letters-of-credit will be unavailable to move large shipments of anything from Point A to Point B. How long after that will it be before the supermarket shelves empty down? And in the event, what will the dollar buy?

It looks like the shit sandwich President Obama has carefully prepared and left in the White House pantry for his successor will take the form of inflation, the dying of your money — or, at least, paper currency. Or, if it doesn’t die outright, prepare for the possibility that you might not be able to get your hands on it, as money markets gate their exits and banks restrict cash withdrawals.

Though it’s clearly a loser strategy now, I suspect that the ragged remains of the Democratic Party will persist in amping up their sacred identity grievances to the point of civil strife without ever understanding the economic dynamics in motion. They don’t know what else to do. Plus, they are captives of the poverty policy racketeers. I also suspect that neither Mr. Obama or Mr. Trump will get around to pardoning Hillary Clinton for the racketeering operation of her foundation, of which the private email server was the least issue — rather, the arrant sale of influence and access to the State Department is the heart of the matter, and anyone paying attention knows it, including the incoming Attorney General. If that circus comes to town, Trump could benefit from the distraction it offers the public.

There’s a lot of talk on the Net about Strauss and Howe’s “Fourth Turning” taking stage now. That excellent book, published twenty years ago, posits the turbulent end of 80-year generational cycles in history. (Blogger Jim Quinn lays it out nicely this week at The Burning Platform). Previous Fourth Turning presidents Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt took the nation through epic bloodbaths and economic dislocation. Donald Trump in terms of demeanor is no Lincoln and no FDR. But he did raise up those children of his somehow, and that’s all we’ve got to go on for the moment.

Good thoughts. Really hard to know what impact Trump will have on the swamp until he gets into office. I hope he has a long memory and remembers that Wall Street was 100% against him.

This election was for all the marbles and alot of folks put their faith in him.

Looking forward to his Thanksgiving address tomorrow.

2016 Silver Eagle Sales

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 14:00 on November 23, 2016

Compared to the previous few years, total sales of Silver Eagles have been down this year. This is due in no small part to the sharp rise in silver prices earlier this year: At one point this summer, the argent metal had risen 45%, crossing above the $20-per-ounce threshold. These higher prices eventually wore down retail demand for the bullion coins.

Precious Metals Sales Report (Revised): Gold Cools a Little, Silver Cools a Lot

American Eagle gold bullion coin sales have reached a total of 904,500 ounces across 1-ounce, 1/2-ounce, 1/4-ounce, and 1/10-ounce options. Last week saw 30,500 ounces of bullion Gold Eagles sold, down from 37,500 ounces sold the previous week; in addition, the number of 1/10-ounce Gold Eagles sold in September was adjusted upward by 5,000 coins, adding an additional 500 ounces to the year-to-date total.

re It is all so Confusing

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:28 on November 23, 2016

I think when TPTB want supply, they raise the price so people will SELL gold. Maybe it’s opposite lately and they want us to BUY gold. And if its not working, lower the price some MORE until the US Mint starts running out of Eagles. 🙂

It is all so Confusing…Or the more you know, the less you know!!

Posted by Auandag @ 13:18 on November 23, 2016

As far as PMs go, supply demand fundamentals don’t matter, it seems. Its all in the $ they say. So bonds are selling off and there is a huge demand for dollars. So who is buying these bonds? So is it the central banks? Who else would it be? If they are buying and printing to do so wouldn’t that increase the supply of dollars? I guess I’ll just continue to “be right and sit tight”.  Even though my azz is starting to get sore from all that sitting!

Buygold & Auandag, There Is Hope

Posted by Farmboy @ 12:54 on November 23, 2016

May take a little time, a bit more patience, but there is hope. In my heart I think Trump really wants to clean up the swamp. I am hoping he will make it clear to all, including his appointees that the Rule of Law shall once again be the standard. I think it must be so if he wants to set this country back on track.

The appointments I am most interested in watching are the Dept of Justice, and hopefully a new Director and beefed up staffing for the SEC. It would be a beginning of setting some wrongs of Wall St right. If instead of a slap on the wrist, some faced jail time, well, maybe the folks at SEC would actually do their jobs and spend less time at looking at porn sites.

There is soon to be a new sheriff in town, and the Hampton Gang might be in trouble this time.

That is my hope and prayer. Sic Em Donald !!

China bidding $1 billion for Australian Super Pit Gold Mine

Posted by Gold_Titan1 @ 12:14 on November 23, 2016

China is poised to seize control of half the Kalgoorlie Super Pit after making a knockout bid of more than $US1 billion ($1.36 billion) for a stake in Australia’s most important gold mine.

The Super Pit is owned by rivals Barrick Gold Corporation and Newmont Mining Corporation through their joint venture, Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines.

Probably a good indicator as Chinese normally don’t get involved in losing ventures.

Willie, McGuire, Sinclair, Holter, Sprott, – all of them have been singing the same song for years. Love reading them all but none of them have a clue.

India, China, Russia supposedly buying physical hand over fist, since when have fundamentals ever mattered? Gold doesn’t even keep up with inflation.

It’s not their fault, how could they possibly analyze a rigged market?
