LOL! The bird is in better shape than I am at this point. I took him to the Ag Inspection station prior to shipping inter island to my friends. Got him to say “Hello” to the girl inspecting him and he totally charmed her as she wrote “Passed Inspection” on the paperwork. It was leaving the inspection station that the truck died. I had to abandon the truck on the street and call a taxi to make it to air cargo with the bird on time. He made the flight OK and is safe in some loving hands on the Big Island and charming them now. (Their dog is jealous.)
Then I proceeded to run up over $100 in taxi bills to rescue the truck, get it to a repair shop, get parts, and get home. I was lucky it wasn’t yet ‘Obama Day’ here, or the taxis would have been $500 in the traffic snarls.
