Back in the 1970s I used to get a weekly paper called “The Spotlight” with a motto “the paper you can trust”. “America First” was often mentioned. There was always lots of interesting things to read that were “unmentionable” in the mass media.
I remember one story that a bill Congress wanted to eliminate the $100 Fed Note after eliminating the $500 note. It didn’t pass, but in reality, inflation melted away most of the value of the 1970s $100. Back in those days the $100 note bought what $1500 buys today.
Somehow TPTB did not like the paper and put it out of business. I think using law suits. Maybe Trump and or his father was a subscriber. Where else could that phrase come from?
The first time I heard Trump say America First, I thought huh?? Deja vu. It brought back old memories. I asked Mrs. Copper, wasn’t that phrase from the old Spotlight? I did a search and confirmed my thoughts. It was from the Spotlight.
